I got my card in June and haven't had a statement yet. will phone up and change my address, still hav access to old address and nothing has arrived.

Limit is £250 and must be 35-40 something %. I did pay for something but then got a refund and think I have around £50 on it at present.

The vanquis telephone banking is good, I would recommend that you give them a ring to keep an eye on your recent transactions etc. I do this regularly through the month.

I haven't used my vanquis card at all this month yet (been sticking everything on my Cap one as I like the online facility). is that a bad thing to go a month with no transactions? Should I buy something on it just for the sake of it or will it not make any difference?

    Thanks
    Vanquis- Limit £1250, balance £0
Capital One Classic- Limit £800, balance £0
Natwest Current Account- £800 OD limit, approx £600 OD
Loan- £3300, will be paid off by Dec 09
Student Loan- paid off Dec 09 (That's £150 a month extra! Woohoo)
Empire Catalogue Account- £750 limit, balance £30

Won't make any difference. If there is a zero balance with no transactions you will not get a statement though.

OK good, I should hopefully get a nice green zero still yes?

I am on a complete countdown to when all my bad data drops off my report, I honestly cannot wait. I think the vanquis service is excellent but I would love a mainstream credit card with a crazy limit! it'd just make me feel good knowing the issuer can trust me with that much of available funds. I feel like a bit of a criminal with my little V & Cap1 limits!!

Hi All, ive had my vanquis card since 2004, started on 250 - and now after a couple of increase its now 1k and has been for over 3 years now, I have kept my account in good order always and therefore I dont think its as straight forward on what your figures suggest, ie I also have a mate who has one with a 200 limit and always kept it good and never had an increase in 3 years.

Sorrry to ruin things for some of you but u need to have a few sides of what has actually happened, from mine and my mates that is :)

Yes you've missed payments or went overlimit or have other debts that scare them away - quite simple. Those figures came from a lead manager at their head office (processing) so they are quite accurate...

Well, I phoned the customer line to see if I had and increase as it is now 4 months 1 day, and nothing no increase at all.

Do you think I've missed out on the increase or could it be the phone line has not updated my account yet?

  • I got my third statement this morning and I have got my first credit limit increase to £500:j

I celebrated by paying off the full balance for the first time, I had been leaving a balance on the card to let Vanquis earn £2 interest a month from me. I only ever use the card for booking cheap travelodge deals and petrol, but it is a useful card to have though. Now to push for the £1000 limit.
