Evening all :hello: and no, I am not too young to think of Dixon of Dock Green :o

Roast lamb, green beans, carrots "new" pots and gravy for tea. I made choc chip "style" cookies earlier (with smooshed smarties!) and am currently having a morwenna girlie evening with a face pack and hair masque on :D

The Grand National day was fab - but very, very cold.. all the time we were out of the stand we were blue :rotfl:Trust us for dressing for a summer day

Very many congratulations to Katie! Woo :T

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good w/e :)

    Katie - congratulations :)
WS - glad you are feeling upbeat :)

Well, I'm trying to get organised for another trip tommorrow - what was supposed to be day trip has now turned into a week in sunny Exeter *sigh* I'm also trying to do my tax return, trying to do some work, trying to do somebody elses's work, acting as referee in an IP battle between my former boss and two collorators... Nwaahhaaaaa.....

My flat is a bomb site. A weopens of mass destruction bomb site. There is laundry *everywhere*. I wanted to have it tidy before OH gets back tomorrow, but then again it was mainly his mess from before we went away (I cleaned the flat, he trashed it whilst packing and looking for stuff) so I might not bother.

I made scones last night (mainly because I wanted carbohydtaes and we had no bread in) and for the first time ever they worked. Normally they are like roof slates. The recipe said it would make 12, but I only seemed to get 5 and they weren't that big. Still. Now there are no scones so it doesn't matter :D

Well, better get back to, train is at 9 am tomorrow :)

    Good Evening All

    Congratulations Katie

I am so glad the forum is back, missed it today & yesterday morning.

Havnt dont loads today but done enough, washing basket is temporarily empty - washing dried on line and smells gorgeous for it. Have cooked a roast pork dinner and did an hour or so in the office.

DD has gone to a friends for a sleepover tonight & tomorrow is going on the train to southend to Adventure Island, first time she has done this without us, slightly worried about it but I know it is a learning curve. Ds has been out all day - he & his mates have a den over the fields, we are lucky to live in a place where he can do that.

Love Sunday evenings coz of No 1 Ladies Detective Agency I am another addict. Off now to have a nice surf - just cox I can.

Pink - do you think I could use strawberries? Dont like raspberrys or blackberrys.

I tell you what, I have missed this blimmin site!

Not read yet, was so excited to post first.

    Been up to loads!

    1) Won £127 on the grand national (first ever lone bet)
    2) Made irish stew in SC , just like me gran used to make it. Really pleased
    3) Mastered brown bread in BM. ONe cup SWB, one cup wholemeal, one cup granary. Last time i followed the white bread recipe, but noticed last night the brown recipes ask for more sugar oil and milk - most double the quantity i think. last nights on WB recipe was nice bt didnt rise to full size. Todays is finished in 10 mins and is practically hitting the glass window (vitamin c also inclided)
    4) Roasted a chicken and have big plans to make soup, couscous, a dinnerfor tonight and 3 pasta sauce. With what i have in , the most cooking i wil have to do until pay day is make spicy rice which is easy or an omellete or silly things - no major cooking
    5) Did my first ever meal plan which is so easy! Inventory of cupvoards , freezer etc. Then worked out until payday a healthy balanced diet which also means im basically following slimming world . I have a very short skirt to get into on the 25th apr, so measures must be taken
    6) Missed this place something shocking- kept thinking - ill find help on OS for this, but no threads ! argh! How did i ever survive pre OS board?
7)Made fairy cakes today with my neighbours son who is 5. me and his mum had a minor fall out in Nov, and i dont get to see him so was great t spend the afternoon with him -and my brother who surprise dropped in. The little boy wanted to watch power rangers and make buns. So i brought a tray in with all the stuff - i do that with piles of veg to chop. We did the fairy cakes and all i had to do was put them in the oven. Iw alked into the kitchen set it on the shelf, and lost hold of it. Caught it bu ended up with mix on the floor, and mainly all over the bun trays - which i had cleaned. I didnt want to upset Ben, so i scraped itall back into the bowl. We had put chocolate in, all carefully placed and dipped in fllour so it didnt sink. When the buns went in , they were just piles of gloop as it was all mixed by the end. Still, i made choc icing, and we put sprinkles and haribo on top and he was well pelased. Told his mum he was sleeping here and oucld he stay here tonight.

    Bless.
    Hugs o all.

    Hello all,

Can't believe how quickly the weekend has gone past, hasn't helped that I have not been feeling that great this weekend so slept quite a bit!

O/S - Planted flowers in two hanging baskets, sowed mixed salad seeds in tray, onions, sweetcorn, courgette and tomato seeds are coming along quite well in spare room will have to think about getting some grow bags in a few weeks. First year we have grown veg so fingers crossed all goes well!! DW, WM has been on twice and washing has dried. OH made 2 HM quiches tonight so waiting for them to cook. Bought some veg from market yesterday - four big peppers for 1 pound - put them all in the freezer par one which is roasting for tea.

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend - back to work tomorrow :(

I haven't tried it with strawberries but I think it should work ok.......maybe try using a little less sugar to begin with (you can always add more if you need to) as stawberries tend to be fairly sweet.

Edited to add, I just had a look on google and there are lots of recipes for strawberry vodka so I think it would work well.

Haven't posted for a wee while - been amazingly busy with other things so haven't had much time to OS ;)

Back with a vengeance now though :D

Dinner tonight was roast chicken, roast potatoes, stuffing, brussels, carrots, peas, gravy and bread sauce.

Got to wash it all up now

Lovely to see you back Haribo, and Pen Pen too

DH has had to go out on a work matter, and DD is at the IL's - they are having her tomorrow and it saved an early morning for them - so I'm home alone :D

Well better get cracking with the washing up so I can get settled for Lost at 9.00pm.

    Have a lovely evening
