Good After Lunch everybody...........done nothing today, and do not intend doing anything either......well, I baked fish.
Congratulations Katie 1980 :beer:Today, my BEST is good enough.0 -
I've noticed that the thanks count has gone & the day that people have thanked someone has gone too. Not much else seems to have changed. I'd like to say a big thank you to all the tech people who have no doubt worked very hard all weekend :T:T0

Hear hear!
My Thanks button is still in the same place as before, btw.
Katie - Congratulations!:happyhear
Wannabe sybil - Glad you are feeling better.
Pawpurrs - nice to see you back!
Csarina - glad things are going fairly ok with the move.
I'm not sure if I've got a cold or hayfever - either way it's annoying:rolleyes:
Chicken biryani for dinner tonight - I've replaced all my out-of-date spices so it should be more flavoursome this time....0 -
Good afternoon everyone :hello:
Katie - many congratulations!
DH and I spent yesterday at a wedding in Cambridge. Gorgeous weather and a lovely, relaxed ceremony and reception. It caused much amusement when their middle names were read out - they both have the same middle name albeit one being the female version and the other being the male version. We spent the night in a great hotel, which we'd got for a great price via www.hotelscomparison.com - then going through TopCashBack to get cashback via Late Rooms. Lunch was at Pizza Express today, using vouchers via this site too.
Whilst we were in Boots, I was nabbing a sample of a new body lotion when I was approached by two of the instore promotion team, asking whether they could take my photo (for proof that they're doing these promos). No problems.I then had to go and have my photo taken again for another product - more freebies. :j :j
Later tonight I'm helping out at the box office of our local cinema night. I would normally watch the film too (for free, naturally - one of the reasons why I signed up as a volunteer in the first place!!) but I like to watch the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency on BBC too. The two clash, but my love of all things to do with Alexander McCall Smith wins.
Right, I now need to sort out some paperwork, then some washing for the WM.
Take care all

Csarina -I hope your DD1 makes a swift recovery. It sounds really painful.
We (well, dear heart) has removed the wardrobe from little bear's room. I was terrified that LB would see it as a challenge, and I really don't think I could properly explain that in A&E. The room has been rearranged and, possibly the best bit, a lot of toys that had been secreted on top of the wardrobe until he was old enough have been checked, and he is now old enough for most of them. So LB has a whole stack of toys that are new, exciting and interesting, so can he play up here please mother.
I have made several attempts and I think I have got the most of a tub of sour cream dip out of the carpet  LB enjoys dips. I am really seeing the attraction of laminate. Dear heart thinks that it does not look nice, and would be cold, but given the fight with LB every time I get the hoover out and the punishment the carpet gets, I really think that it has it's benefits. The sour cream dip landed where I honestly think I got all the cress seeds up from. I shall report if anything sprouts.
Hester - I love the sound of your lodger. Evil cat is still just evil.

Evening everyone! What a pleasant surprise, I wasn't expecting the boards to be back up!!
Congratulations to Katie!!!
It's been an awful day here - raining non stop, apart from the 10 minutes I was out with the dog at midday. So, it's been a lazy one here in the Hebrides. My brother and soon to be sister-in-law came round to visit, so it was lovely to catch up with them.
Had a culinary disaster last night - DH wanted to make dinner, so he used a curry sauce he fancied when we were last on the mainland - bought from Sainsburys. So, he did it all himself and make the mistake of rinsing out the packet with a lot of water, so the curry was runny. I didn't particularly enjoy it and neither did he. The dog scored the chicken that was in it and the rest has gone into the organic bin!
Tonight's tea is macaroni and beans, on request from DH.....!!!
Apart from the papers yesterday, it's been a couple of NSDs, so that's been good.
Had a long phone call from a friend who's mum is dying with cancer yesterday. It's very hard for the family seeing her like this, but thankfully the pain is being controlled. They had the heartbreaking task of going to choose a grave plot this afternoon, which would have been far from easy.
I read "Endal" by Allen and Sandra Parton over the last couple of days and really enjoyed it. Endal sounds like a fantastic dog and I'd recommend the read to others, especially if you're a doggy type person.
Enjoy the evening and what's left of the weekend. Hugs to all those that need one.0 -

Aw thanks Squigglybut are you sure we're talking about the same Pink?
;):p:D
Ok Tru, you can stop with the threatening messages. I is back.:D
Glad to see the forum back but I was also happy not to have the distraction of it for a couple of days as I mangaed to get alot done in the garden. I'm away for 10 days from Wednesday so I neeed to get ahead of the game with my veg seedlings and OH has done alot of clearing of trees from the cliff. We've put up some more nesting boxes, installed another pond (which the dog thinks is her personal jacuzzi ) and I have planted up alot of summer bulbs. I am trying not to buy too many bedding plants so have grown most from seed but it's hard work and they take up loads of room.
Unfortunately when the sun shines and I get out in the garden, the housework goes to pot.Fine during the week but not when the 3 furies (aka OH, Dtwin1 and Dtwin2) are at home. So this evening I shall mostly be cr*p shifting and packing.
No cooking today, just sarnies for lunch and cold meat salad for tea. 2 loads of washing dried in the sun and the ironing to be put away.
OH went to the dump to recycle and found me a brand new huge wicker hamper still with the price tag on.:jHe has inspired DDs to become scavengers too and had to confiscate Dtwin2's finds before they came home. thank God too as they were a proshetic arm and leg.:rotfl:
Pleased to see they have done away with the thanks count. I hope it's not temporary as it's not reflective of good avice anymore. (Mine certainly wasn't.)
Oh look how I've waffled.
Congratulations to Katie. :j
Hope your sniffles clear up soon Ivyleaf.xxx
Hope your DD is feeling better soon Csarina. She must have been in a lot of pain and I'm sure she hated letting you down.
I have my fingers crossed for you for tommorrow Snowy. xxx
