Hi, this is the Daily Thread for April 5th 2009. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.

Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

Woohoo we are back on :j:j
I have missed you all

it has been beautiful weather and whilst I've not been able to get on here I have had had a good rummage in the garden and tidied it up a bit

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :j:j:j:j It's back!!! :j:j:j

Today we are, in stages, moving little bear's room about so he can't crash against the window. He was doing a sort of clog dance on the unit next to the window and fell backwards and bounced off. He was unperturbed and the clog dance continued but dear heart and myself braced and had to remember to start breathing again. It may be a modern, double glazed, locked window, but really!

LB is a lot better in his nether end, my cold has been downgraded to an annoying sniffle, my hand is functional, the kitchen is cleaner, the sun is shining and dear heart is off to get a new carcass for the kitchen sink which should be fitted this week.

The washing machine is churning with all the oddments that LB has secreted down the back of things and which are now coming to light, and I am planning a further attack on the cupboards in the kitchen after he has gone to sleep this evening.

I can't remember the last time I felt this positive.

    Hugs to all.

Hi everyone - nice to be back:T:T:T

Had a busy day yest, (as I wasn't spending loads of time on computer lol) got lots done in the house and even cleaned car! Went to friends for dinner last night - was a lovely evening.

Today bm, wm on, two loads on line already - roast pork with all trimmings for lunch. Cake in oven and twinks hob nobs done for packed lunches, although not for me as yet again I am starting a diet tomorrow (one of these days it WILL last past Monday lol) I have stocked up at Asda this morning with lots of salad and fresh fruit and veg so I am prepared. Have a really big family wedding in Ireland in just over 7 weeks and really need to loose weight to feel reasonable about myself and for the new outfit to look half decent!!!

Can't wait to catch up with everyone's news. Hope you are all having a nice weekend.

  • Well done Katie!

I've been good today and I've planted the runner beans that we bought yesterday, so they are in the kitchen window now waiting to sprout, along with some nasturtiums and salad mix. Hoping to grow as much veg etc as I can this year, I even have a plum tree!

Yay we're back, I didn't realise how much time I spent here until this weekend!

So far today I've taken the nets down in the living room, washed them & they're on the line, curtains are now in the washer & I've washed the windows inside. I've taken down 1 blind in the kitchen and washed it and the window so there's only 1 more to do. I'm wishing I hadn't bought louvre blinds though, they're a nightmare to wash!

I'm having a sit down with a sandwich now because my backs aching but then I'll finish off the kitchen and clean the outside of the windows before starting on dinner.

Congratulations Katie and I'm pleased you and little bear are feeling better WS.

Isn't it nice how sunny weather seems lift the spirits?
