• Brilliant - glad you got the refund :j
My thanks also to wishicouldaffordit - sent my letter off to AXA on March 23 and money was paid into my account yesterday ! I stumbled on this thread whilst looking for advice on debts so have now killed two birds with one stone and have a nice amount now in savings too. Only thing left now is my PPI reclaim from First Plus which is with, regrettably, Ashworth Law, wish I'd done it myself. Anyone care to offer any positive results on that front ?!!

After a year of growth in both the stock market and the bond markets, it would be interesting to see some examples of how Axa values these policies.

Please post these to help other MSErs.

If they can't add value after a brilliant last year, then they are totally hopeless - and you can be doubly sure that the annual fees will gobble up any future growth in the fund.

Hi guys, very interesting thread and thanks for all the advice. I took out my policy in November 2003 and am really hoping to get this refund rather than the surrender value they offer. The surrender value is worth £1881 but I have paid in over a £1000 more than this. Any help, advice or template letters massively appreciated as just been made redundant like a few others on here so every single penny counts. Thanks in advance
• Hi Guys

I took out a policy in June 2003 and I am currently paying £60 a month and will do so for the next 10 years. I was exploring the possibility of surrending the policy when reviewing my finances but following this thread I believe I may have the possibility of seeking a full reclaim. Would it be possible please to forward a copy of the letter that has been successful to fireexit2010@hotmail.co.uk

Many thanks

Stumbled upon this thread and found it extremely useful as we have two of these polices we took out in 2002/2003. Given what we have read we think we should surrender these as it sounds as if they were mis-sold to us. We would appreciate if someone could pm us a copy of a template letter we could use to make a claim that the policies were mis-sold to us.
Many thanks.:)

• Hi,my wife took out one of these policys in jan 2000,thinking like the advert said get a tidy lump sum back in 15yrs.After reading some of the storys here she phoned them up asking what would the surrender value would be,they have told her she will have wait 10days,however they did say because a lifecover policy was tied in to the cashbuilder plan worth £4860 the money that has gone towards this is non returnable. We have worked out that she has paid in £3630 upto feb 2010 less the £120 after the first year,so we have a stressful 10day wait to see how much she has lost, the bonuses aquired so far are £941 which doesnt seem a lot for 10years so to say the least she is not happy can anybody please help or give us advice on how to deal with this situation
regards :(
