Hello,
I am going to buy one, and was wondering if anyone had any advice on where to go, and what sort of price to expect to pay. I think I'd want a pad with it, and maybe one game (but not too concerned about the game, as I have a friend who can lend me loads of his). I've seen Game selling it at £310.00 with GTA and LBG, does this sound like the best deal out there?
Thanks!
Duncan

imho its pointless, you can get an xbox for much less and the games look the same.
i dont mean to start a ps3 vs 360 fight i will conceed the ps3 hardware is slightly better but they arnt selling enough consoles to build up a user base for devs and by the time the console its its limts ms will ship a xbox 720.0 -
Game have a few PS3 bundles for £319, which generally come with two £20 games.
The PS3 on its own is £289 on Amazon. So, you'll be saving £10 with the bundles from Game. It's worth it provided you actually want any of the games you get with it.
As above, an XBox 360 is also worth considering.0 -
If you just want it for the games then buy a xbox....but if you want the best Blu ray aswell then buy the Ps3
I've had both.....PS3 is the best if you want an all in one package...not just a games machine.
Have you tried play.com??
I believe amazon is the cheapestIf you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -

it is usually possible to negotiate a deal in hmv. today i agreed to buy one with a hdmi cable, resistance 2 and the dark knight blu ray. i replaced the hdmi cable with 2 blu rays in the 2 for £30 offer and as they only had killzone 2 consoles in stock i also got killzone 2. the total price for me was £303.61.0 -
Thanks all. I'm decided on a PS3 over an XBOX 'cause it'll double as a DVD player and a bit of a media centre with music and stuff. Mainly though, a couple of friends have had them for over a year and have promised to lend me games (and one of them has got loads!), and I'll be able to play on-line with them, if that makes sense. I'm gonna try PLAY.com now. Thanks again.

Doesn't look a lot in it, looking at PLAY.com (and only seems to be KILLZONE).
I'm fancying the bundle at GAME, with GTA5 and LBP (am I right that my 7 year old daughter will like this one?). Wondering if it's even worth trying to barter them down a bit when I buy.... anyone have any experience of that?
I've already bought a gold HDMI cable from ebay for a fiver (on the advice of a friend who told me that it makes the picture better than the bog standard ones... presume he knows what he's on about)
Thanks.

one thing you should consider that i forgot to mention is that hmv also will let you change a game within a package if you dont like it. i went for resistance 2 to go with everything else but i could have had other top games instead like little big planet, motorstorm 2, fifa 09 etc.
i dont work for them honest.0 -
So, I've wasted my money!? I imagine I would have got the normal one with the playstation anyway? Will I gain no benefit at all in having the gold one, then? LOL.
