the pampers nappies were at the front of the store right by the entrance and there was a pic of them on the voucher book but no voucher inside, I checked about 3 times because I thought there MUST be one in there as loads of people had a box or 2 in their trolley, but they were about £4 a box more than in asda so I just chuckled to myself that so many people had fallen for the trick.

At that particular time, the 3 weeks from 22nd March to 11th April, Costco's were cheaper than ASDA's
BUT ONLY (providing you bought in multiples of 2 boxes) because of the 25% discount offer coupon in the Savings Booklet (incidentally the coupon was on the back of the front cover)

Yeah but the asda boxes contain less nappies so they work out a lot cheaper in costco:T

The sizes of boxes of Pampers in Costco were (and still are) EXACTLY the same as those in ASDA
The MEGA Boxes in BOTH stores contains
    144 x Size 3 MIDI
    120 x size 4 MAXI
    108 x size 4+ MAXI PLUS
    99 x size 5 JUNIOR

Exactly, I got about 240 Pampers nappies for twenty quid!!

Find me THAT deal in Asda

Your two boxes (2 x size 4 @120 each = 240) would have cost you just £19.48 with the offer coupon
At that time ASDA were selling them at £12 per box, so would have been £24 for the 240, BUT this was the USUAL PRICE for them, so BEFORE AND AFTER 22nd March to 11th April ASDA WAS CHEAPER than Costco (£24 versus £25.98)

There is one exception - the SIZE 3 - ASDA sell all MEGA boxes for £12 - Costco for £12.99 except size 3 which is £11.99 (well that's what it's advertised for in ours) :)

Having said all that, better still ASDA earlier in the year were selling them on offer for just £10 per box, and over one weekend even dropped them to just £8

So Costco was only better priced than ASDA for just 3 weeks. (forgetting the 1p on size 3's)

Thank you for all your hard work working that out :)

I'm sorry to say though, that I did actually price the nappies in Asda based on the offer at Costco, and my Asda doesn't do the mega boxes - there were only boxes with 54's (I think that's how much were in there).

I don't usually get my nappies from Costco - but this time they were a good deal.

Just considering joining Costco - but can't find any prices on their tyres... anyone have a recent ballpark pricing?

Tried calling my local store but they said they wont give a price over the phone to non-members... too busy apparently to deal with all the calls they get...

Tyre size in question is: 205/55H16 if anyone has specific info, just wondering if the saving is worth the 20 mile round trip versus the place at the end of the road...

Also - anyone know if Costco stock Apple products? (Macbooks / ipods etc?)

    Cheers
    Steve

I jotted down prices for 3 different ones about a week ago since they had some on an aisle inside the main store. Yours was one of them.

You do know that they ONLY sell MICHELIN don't you.

    PRIMACY HP 205/55 VR 16 91V

    £72.99 + VAT = £85.76

I know of half a dozen places near to me that do these exact ones for under £80 (inc. new valve & balanced etc,) for a single tyre - and with a 10% discount for 2 (and usually 20% to 25% off for a full set of 4)

I must admit I'm not a fan of Michelin at all - Pirelli is my top choice.
Local dealers do the equivalent of this tyre in Firestone or Avon for £60 all in.

They do sell ipods, but not always the full range/sizes. Don't know about macbooks.

Yes, the ipods at Costco will be at RRP, with no free accessories/vouchers etc. If you have a trade membership maybe you don't have to pay the vat?? And you would get the Costco guarantee (5 years on most things, but not sure about ipods?)
  • Do Costco ever deliver?

I want to buy a washing machine, but would obviously have trouble geeting it home if they don't. Would the machine come under the 5year guarantee? TIA

Costco don't deliver. Suggest you call them and ask what the warranty is for the model you are looking to buy. I usually find them quite helpful, but don't call in the morning, when they always seem very busy, try later in the day.
