Ok lets clear this up! i work for costco in as a suspervisor on the tills and the rules that are set by HQ say that coupons must be issued by the member for the discount

You are more than welcome to join me at Chingford and you will clearly see staff using them on the tills.

I do not really see the problem if something is on sale or reduced - what difference does it make producing the voucher yourself or if a till operator uses ones they have on the tills?

Perhaps it is Head Office rules - but I prefer common sense and it seems Chingford is using common sense.

Its not just Chingford, but Sheffield too. In fact they have laminated vouchers that they scan. Its common sense like you said.

I buy desperados (tequila flavored beer) from Makro, its like half the price than the local corner shop.

Even better when it's in the Mail, goes down to around 18.99.

The prices at Makro aren't the best to be honest, i should know, i work there, but when things are on the mail some things are fantastic value.

I don't think Makro is all that good for people who are just doing their general shopping there, but for people who own shops, pubs, resturants etc, it'salot better as they usually get special offers of their own, and their Retro back.

Just thought anyone who is deciding whether to buy electrical goods from Makro or Costco should read this thread. It appears that Makro customers are not considered as consumers under the law,so SOGA does not apply in the same way.

I think you need to miss out the COSTCO part of your comment.

Costco's returns policy on electrical goods is second to none

Costco do not hide behind small print - you can keep Makro

.......people who own shops, pubs, resturants etc, usually get special offers of their own, and their Retro back.

Does "Retro" mean retrospective rebate, that is a kick back probably based on total monthly spend over a year? (The sort of thing cash back credit cards and National Power offer their customers)
