Mothers...what would you do?

How does your *DF* feel about potentially not having his mother there, regardless of the issue of her not saving to travel? I mean really feel if she can't be there for his day?

To be honest, for the sake of family relations, I would suggest you at least contribute to her travel. Just as he is her son, she is his mother after all.

Are there other issues impeding her travel? Some people hate/fear flying, crowds or that sort of environment. It's quite a trip to ask of somebody, is she used to travel? Just a thought as I think it might be daunting for some people to do a trip of this magnitude.

I do hope you get it sorted out and find a compromise.

DF said it would be a shame if she couldn't come, but is willing to have the wedding with or without her there. He said that she's had plenty of warning about timescales etc etc. He said "i'm not bothered who comes, aslong as me and you are there, thats all that matters" how genuine that is i don't know, maybe hes being 100% honest about this, or maybe he's a bit hurt and doesn't want to say, but he's never really been that family orientated She's been on holiday loads in the past, so there's no fear of flying or anything like that but she's never been that far in one trip, so maybe you're right to suggest this could be a contributing factor. She did say to take plenty of photos while we are there though, so its nice to feel that she cares even if its just a little!
