Afternoon all
Was only meant to work 9 til 12, ended up doing 8 to 2:30, still I shall put in for overtime. The lodger has been fed & walked, garden watered & a few more seeds planted. Tonight I need to study my child protection info & hopefully do some more knitting.
Work on Monday & then I'm off til the 20th, I need to sort out my spare rooms, they are full of clutter.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Hugs Hester

Tru, hope there's no connection between the new sharp knives and the need for an action film:rotfl: You're not planning on going on a rampage I hope
Must admit we like Die Hard too, total rubbish, but fun
:D
Haribo, I'm glad you say you will still post, just wish I saw you on the Daily more;) Anyone that knows you, knows you're kind and caring, but you are also honest and that's a quality that isn't always well received. Take care :kisses3:
Yesterday I made a lovely caramelized onion and goats cheese tart. Was yummy so I'm having the leftovers again tonight. DH isn't the biggest lover of goat's cheese so he's having hotsmoked trout instead. Will serve it with salad and new potatoes. Nice and easy:D
I've just brought in two washloads that smell divine. It's been a perfect drying day here, so I quickly stripped our bed. That'll be lovely on the bed next week. Shame it will need ironing first:rotfl:
I had planned lots of gardening this weekend, but my neighbour informs me we're due rain from tonight onwards. Do hope she's wrong. Enjoy your weekends everyone. See you all next week. And happy hols to those going away, sorry can only remember tired mum and smoky, the brain is a bit addled:oYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Have a great weekend all. I am turning into a lurker on this thread but will miss you all especially this weekend.

Fell in the street while chasing after little bear.
I thought some sunshine would do us both good.
Little bear has not been co-operative, a kind neighbour brought him back after he started towards the wild blue yonder (he got about six yards, but his intention was to go all the way). My left hand feels iffy. Actually it feels the same as when I had an inflamed tendon. Little bear is following the path of civil disobedience when it comes to nappy changing and the challenge is so hard, all in wrestling on the changing mat and the Krypton Factor to get him there in the first place. And he doesn't scream or shout or carry on - he just refuses and then, even worse, stalls - look mum, I'm doing something interesting. That is so much harder to deal with. And now when I seem finally getting out of the lurgy, I can't use my left hand properly, and there is so much that needs to be done.
I really feel I could just sit down and cry. But dinner is on, dear heart will be home in five minutes, I have a drs appt sorted out, it could be worse. Especially with the people who really suffer who post on this thread, I am pretty lucky.
And the dratted mouse has just ceased to co-operate as well. I hope to post this by tabbing through and then go for a good wallow in self pity.
So everyone have a brilliant time (deja vu?) this weekend, and I shall 'see' you all after the awful gap of the shutdown.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

If BIL wants to come to stay, tell him it's £200 per week PAID IN ADVANCE. He will not get anywhere to feed board and wash for him for less.;)

Hello everyone, have you missed me
Well, I know one of you has, so I'm back :kisses3:
I've had no luck finding chicks so far, I'm determined to get some this year. Mr tru's not so keen but if he argues I'll smash the TV over his head.
Fill me in, tru, please? Where have you looked? Do you need some help? We got our 18mth old incubator out of the loft last week to incubate some of our Buff Orpington eggs, and it's carked  We paid about £50 for it, and they want £40 to replace a part  DH is in discussion with Trading Standards. DH is also planning for us to raise some Gloucester Old Spot weaners :T It may take us 9months to plan, and arrange though, so hopefully by next spring :T We've been experimenting making bacon from Berkshire pork, and have some delicious pancetta for 1/4 th price from the supermarket :T The back bacon needs a bit more "refining" yet, thoughI finally watched it. I know I'm the last person in the world to watch it, but I watched it last night. Mamma Mia. Oh dear, pure cheese. What a waste of 2 hours. Julie Walters was fab though.
100% gorgonzola, which makes it an excellent Old Style filmI loved it, so there
I'm off to The Victorian Farm on Tuesday (my D-sis has a house swap very near by for the week) so we're staying nearby. Can't wait :j If I don't come back next week, it's because we all wanted to stay
DH is out in the garden planting onion sets. We bought a sweet cherry tree and some asparagus this year, so can't wait to harvest them (though that may be next year).
Oooh, what a lot of waffling - just one last question, I've had my hair cut (bob, shorter at the back than the front and a fringe  ). Does it suit me - I can't decide
Remember the ancient Chinese proverb - a tidy house, is the sign of a major MSE upgrade
Have great weekends, Penny. x :hello::rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0
