Is Lakeland's White Wizard any good?

How do you fix one of those strip blinds up? I have one with no instructions and am considering just a few nails.

    Hi again,

the camp has just phoned and we are in, booked and paid for:T :T :T

10 mins outside of Newquay, bus service outside of the front gate, swimming pool etc, etc. 15 min walk from the beach. Slightly dearer but it will do nicely.

Thank you for all your good wishes, I hope you all have a good Easter and I will see you all in 2 weeks.

    Marie, thank you. xx

  • (((((((((Mrs Tru))))))))))) We are kindred souls on the TV area. DH loves it and if we didn't have one, it would not bother me much at all. We had a nice 25 inch one that fit in the cabinet behind closed doors when not in use. It died tho and a friend offered us a nice one for £20. They brought it in for me and it's 1 inch too wide to go in the cabinet so it sits on top of the cabinet like a lurking monster.

Hockey Duo What a great site that is for moving boxes. Thanks for sharing that.

Not that much going on OS still. I did wash a load of clothes at the launderette and got them on the line to dry yesterday. DH was off yesterday and as the weather was so warm and sunny, we took Bree pup to the beach for an hour or so. She had lots of fun playing fetch, both on the sand and in the sea. She loves jumping in the water. Quite the change from when she was little and would do anything to avoid a puddle.

We had a nice browse around the charity shops and got some needs as well as a want or two. I have to agree with the thread on how much charity shops are charging these days. I realize they have to meet their operating costs and fund the charity however some of the prices are ridiculous!

This morning I have the remainder of the chicken I roasted on Wed for tea in the slow cooker. The meat will go into a pie and I'll have plenty of nice stock to freeze. This has been a good rubber chicken as we'll have 3 meals, a sandwich for DH today and stock from it. I had planned on doing another big load of laundry as it was suppose to clear and be warm again today. Instead it's gray, foggy and cold! :(

We're going to look at a flat tomorrow afternoon that is closer to DH's work. It's in a nice area also. The man who owns it is offering 3 months free rent in exchange for painting it, and making the kitchenette into a kitchen with cupboards. Apparently it's a "blank canvas" at this point. I shudder to think about the shape it may be in, and possibly the size as the rent is fairly low for that area. However if it is suitable, it will be nice to decorate the way we want. I was a bit excited and had trouble sleeping last night. Thinking on cabinet types, prices etc. I've got to remind myself not to count my chicks before they hatch. We would both dearly love to move from here into somewhere with a wee bit more room.

Off now to tidy up and give the kitchen and bathroom a deep cleaning. I'll hoover around and possibly do some ironing after that. It's starting to hit me that I didn't get nearly enough sleep last night and I'm fighting the urge to go nap for a while. Hopefully the cleaning will win out.

    (((((((((((((((Gentle Hugs))))))))))))))))))) to all.

Enjoy your weekend as much as possible.

    Peyton xx

    Afternoon all.

    Best wishes to N9eav’s MIL.

Tru you’re not the last person in the world to watch Mamma Mia; I haven’t seen it, and have absolutely no plans to do so! LOL.

Nimbo I hope you’re starting to feel a bit better.

Smoky I'm glad you've got the holiday sorted - I often feel that the stress of organising a holiday negates the relaxation of going on it!

Sybil I hope LB's nether regions are a bit less sore today.

I'm another one who could happily live without a TV. At the moment, we actually watch 2 programmes per week (well, I tape them so that we can fast-forward through the wretched adverts) but that's unusual for us. Normally it just gets used for PlayStation2 games.:p

I've made Shepherd Spy for lunch - Mr LW was supposed to go into w*rk very early today, but they later said he could w*rk from home instead.:j That's all the OS I'm doing today; I need all my energy, as we're at the opera tonight. (The Marriage of Figaro, if anyone's interested - where is Bargain Rzl these days, btw?).

But we'll make up for it at the weekend - I have a list of jobs as long as my arm, plus its the monthly Farmers Market day this Sunday.

I'm probably the only one who won't miss the forum while it's down, as I don't normally get online at weekends in any case.

((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today, I'm going to nip across to Disability & Dosh, (the only other board I really go on, as some of them are just too plain scary:eek:) and enjoy the cup of tea Mr LW has just put in front of me.

Just seen your post above, bless him, my ds's friend has aspergers and used to be notorious for stating people were fat or smelly or whatever! He also used to take things literally, I can remember him looking at me and being really puzzled when he was about 7 and I accused him of pulling my leg lol!

my son still struggles with literal things like this, just last week my mum said to him 'you're in the dog house' and then had to explain what she meant and he is 16 now. I remember saying to him quite a few years ago draw the curtains and he said he couldn't as he didn't have a pencil, this was said sincerely - he just took everything literally.

.I cannot get over the resentment from one poster towards the fact that I cared for a stranger Oser and was concerned for their welfare.I have always been a very kind caring and generous person and I really do feel like stopping this and that I am a fool to be this way. putting everyone else first I thought was a GOOD thing.

I am really sorry that you "cannot get over" the fact that I pointed out that I thought that you telling someone on a forum that they had severe psychological problems. I maintain that if you think someone is mentally vulnerable, a quiet pm might be more in order. I was not resentful of you and nor was I nasty and I am very sorry, if a little bemused, that you took it that way. I consider myself to be a kind, caring and generous person too and as such I was worried that the person you were talking about would be upset by your post. perhaps I would have been better to say nothing though. I am actually pretty hurt that you think that I am nasty and fear leaving the daily in case you encounter me again. icon9.gif I don't think I'll stop posting though and I hope that you don't either.

That's really all I have to say on the matter and if you want to continue discussing it perhaps you should pm me. icon7.gif

Sorry for the non OS post everyone. :o Just wanted to clear that up. ;)

Enjoy your MSE free weekend everyone and kind thoughts to all in need.

We spent our first night in the house, the new bed had thumbs up from both of us…….although the house is still quite cold…the heating has been off for some weeks.

We spent over an hour this morning preparing the back bedroom for my sewing stuff. It took OH well over an hour to clean the window frame, the curtains are too big for the windows even though I have drawn them up as far as I can…….they will be replaced when I can afford to. I scraped more paint off the skirting board, plug points and light switches, cleaning the ceiling of its festooned cobweb’s, the wardrobes are not bad, wiped the shelves with a damp cloth and then hovered the carpet. I have had to empty the cylinder on the Dyson twice so far…….I am sure who ever lived here never took their shoes off in the house and did very little cleaning………upstairs is not as bad as downstairs but its bad enough. I could do with Kym and Aggies team. I had to remove the toilet seat, when you sat on it, it moved, it was not fitted correctly either, I took it off and tried to undo the screws to fit it correctly, they are rusted in, so a new toilet seat is needed.

Hoping to move 2 loads today, DD will be here over the weekend to take down the wall cupboards in the kitchen, I have gifted them on free cycle to a single parent family. We also have to take my sewing table and the bed head board across, they will not go in the car, so we will walk with them. I will take the headboard on the first journey.

OH has been cleared to resume his usual lifestyle, so digging, hooving and driving back on the adgenda.

It was a very grey start but the sun is out now a nice bright afternoon in view………….
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

LOL We used to have one like that; it nearly pitched me onto the floor on several occasions!

    Afternoon all

Sun has finally come out here and it is a bit warmer now (was quite cold here this am).

Have finished work now for the day and had a quick tidy and mop around, unloaded dishwasher, wm and bm on, been to asda to get the bargains on offer (loads of YS there today, must go at that time again on a friday!!!)

I think that we could start our own "I haven't seen Mamma Mia either and don't really want to" club as it applies to me too. I quite like Rom-coms but can't be doing with everyone spontaneously breaking into song every two minutes!!!!:rotfl:

I am really going to miss the forum for the next couple of days, I spend quite a lot of time on computer as I don't really like tv too much and really enjoy catching up with everyone - ah well more to talk about when we get back here!!:D

Hope everyone who is going away has a brilliant time, ((((((Hugs))))))) to all who need or want them.

    xxx
