..and I'm not going to either:D

Just notify the companies you owe debts to of your change of address and that you will be continuing to pay off your debts from your new address and pack your bags and go....

    and here's another :)

my daughter got a temporary job in a clothes shop right after leaving Uni, her employers were a bunch of cowboys & she was treated very badly (looong story) when she rang me from the staff toilet one forenoon in tears, I told her to get her belongings & walk out
she was terrified 'what if they send the mall security after me?' 'what if they send the police?'
anyway she did it amidst protests of 'you can't do this!' 'how are we going to manage the lunch break' & all this from the people who had been cruel & taken advantage of her

she's now working in the field that she studied in & has never been happier

pack your bags, go to Spain & don't look back, opportunities like this don't come often, I'd have certainly encouraged my girl to do it, seize it with both hands! :T

    Good morning! Go to Spain...
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

I guess I just didn't want to come back to England one day and not be able to get a job as I had walked out of a job.
But I guess that if I have worked long enough as an aupair with one family, well that would be a reference in itself.

Well I had a think last night, and I wasn't asking for you to make my decisions don't get me wrong, I guess because I am young I wanted advice from people who maybe have done such a thing.

I am going to send an email to my line manager (the nice lady) and I will just say I am done with the company. Otherwise she will think I've been in a car crash or something.

And then time to turn my phone (s) off

What worries me is that I get the impression that my boss had severe anger issues a few years ago, and that he has calmed down since!!! A couple of months ago, he left work for personal training and then ended up in hospital as they couldnt get his heartrate down.

The family in Spain speak both Italian and Spanish, I'd love to be able to speak those, it would really open up my life in the sense that I could go to a foreign uni, or work abroad, or have a good job as I am multilingual, I wonder if I can get amazon to post me books though ^^

Has anyone ever walked out of a job here?

Yes, and it was nowhere near as bad as yours !
    Jeez seriously, JUST GO

    You dont need a reference.

the family youll be working for will be your new reference

New life awaits, are you stil here :D GOGOGOGOGOGOGO!!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

good decision & a good way of handling the situation

I can understand your fears, but walking out of one job won't impact on your employability in the future & I think you mentioned earlier you'd done other work you could get references from?

my daughter worried about the same thing when she walked out of the job I mentioned above, but she had several other temping jobs before she landed the one she really wanted, & in the end the reference that mattered most was the one from the 'temporary' job that eventually ran on for 18 months, & as you say, you'll have a similar reference from being an aupair, so you'll be fine :)

go, live, learn & have a great time :A

Go and enjoy, I have walked out of a couple of jobs in my time and it has never had any impact on future employment.
If you where my daughter I would have asked you to quit before now. Nobody should be treated badly at work. You are there to do your job and not 'favours' for the boss.
