You can also use it at the table. I sprinkle it on tomato based dishes e.g. bollognaise, lasagne. You can even liven up baked beans with it.0 -
Please send any spare smoked paprika my way - I love it! It's got to be good quality stuff, though - I bought some of Tesco's own brand smoked paprika recently and it's pretty much tasteless (although as other people on this thread have said it's OK I'm now wondering if I was just unlucky and got some from a bad batch).
My favourite way to use it is in bean stews, either with tomatoes and peppers or with kale and chorizo (or occasionally all of them). I'm going to have to try Bongedone's suggestion of using it as a table spice, too - any excuse for using more!

Thanks everybody! I think I must be suffering smoked-paprika-blindness - I swear I searched everywhere in Cardiff Bay Asda when I was last in there and saw nowt - maybe they were just out at the time. I guess I just have to remember to check everytime I enter any shop that sells food and then stock up once I find it! (I do this with a lot of things by the way - ingredients I'm told are "available in any supermarket" never seem to be there when I visit... perhaps I'm just very unobservant!)0

Hi Brokeinwales,
There is another thread with ideas on where to get smoked paprika - which include details of an online retailer as well. I have added your thread to that one to keep the suggestions and ideas together.
Thanks

Hi all,
I have searched for this but can only find threads on where to buy it. So was wondering if anyone can help.
Does anyone know what I can do with a tin of smoked paprika? Cheers allFeb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790 -
Can I ask where you got it from, please? I've been looking everywhere and can only find the little supermarket jars which don't seem to be as good as the tinned stuff.
As for uses - add some to bean / veg casseroles, put some in anything containing chorizo to boost the flavour (kale, chorizo and white bean soup is my favourite - lovely in the chilly weather that's suddenly arrived), use it as a flavouring for tomato sauces for pasta etc, or sprinkle it over meat before grilling or roasting - this recipe for rotisserie-style roast chicken is particularly tasty with smoked paprika, imo (if you don't want a whole chicken, rubbing the coating on chicken pieces works too).
There's lots of other uses as well - it's probably my most used spice (or at least it is when I've got some!)Back after a very long break!0 -
I lightly sprinkle it over my homemade stroganoff ( mushroom and pepper ), before serving.0

Hi Wssla00:hello:
I've added your thread to the existing one on smoked paprika so you can see how others use it. I recently made a nice dipping sauce with smoked paprika and mayo
I bought mine in a larger tesco
Thanks:)
