  • I'd appreciate some help with those Magnum Cards. I have three (total £50) which have so far been "declined" in John Lewis and Sainsburys - on both occasions for sums LESS than the card value. Cashier runs them thru the till and gives them back saying they've been declined.

I've rung the Magnum helpline, who told me to send an eMail (duh!), but so far no response.

    Any ideas much appreciated.

Iam going to have to e-mail Magnum tommorw aswell. Have got a £10 card that has been declined in Asda, Tesco and Pets at Home. The cashiers seem totally clueless. Ive got 3 more cards on the way worth £50 but the trouble is you have to have back-up money on you incase yhe cards are declined, which is embarassing. The supervisor in Asda today looked at me like I was some sort of criminal. Her response was 'its declined', didn't want to know really.
Wish I hadn't bothered with Magnums.
Just to win anything would be great!!

It's better than their having jobs in which a lack of education or intelligence would do harm or endanger people.

I went into Sainsburys today to use one of my cards and no one had any idea what I was talking about. The cashier had never seen one of the cards before and called over her supervisor. The supervisor tried another way of trying to put the card through - but nothing worked.
Thankfully the store wasn't busy and the staff I encountered couldn't have been friendlier or nicer.

I've still arranged to email myself Amazon gift certificates and now have them as credit on my Amazon account though!

Grr, when I get my cards I was hoping to put them towards a small LCD for my son. Was hoping to do a split transaction but that would involve about 6 Pleasure Cards and the remainder in cash.

I can't activate one of my cards because it tells me I'm putting the wrong date of birth in.

When I called Magnum, they told me to email but i haven't had a reply yet - anyone got a way of getting round this annoying little glitch?

having read all the previous posts, I wonder is it time that someone with a "bit of clout" (Martin or a mod) referred Magnum to this forum and the bad press they are starting to receive for all the hassle involved in what should have been a simple competition...the consumer played their part and now Magnum are letting them down...OK they probably didn't expect people to win so much and want to
add all the funds to one card, but even if you only won £10 , you would think it should be possible (without any hassle) to spend the amount you won....I mean what happens to all the "loose change" that will innevitably end up on these cards when they are scrapped....does Magnum get it back?....does Mastercard get to keep it when the cards expire...if thats the case, thats a criminal state of affairs....that spare change could be used to benefit charities....£1 million in prizes...20,000 cards left with 50p on them....thats simply scandalous!

I've been using all the odd bits of change left on my magnum cards to pay off my catalogue account... it's almost clear now.... been paying amounts like 64p, £1.21 etc... just random small amounts... there will be no money left on any of my cards....
