I would guess they will give you a gift card/voucher back, don't think you can refund to prepaid cards.
Or you could say you left the card at home and ask for cash!

So what do you think would happen if I just returned the tops through the post, rather than the store??

Can I ask a really daft question please? I've received and activated a couple of cards successfully, but I received another one today and couldn't remember which codes I had to input to activate the card.
Needless to say, the card was locked after 3 unsuccessful attempts and now I don't know who to contact and how to contact whoever I need to in order to unlock the card.
I've clicked on the forgotten codes thingy, but I don't know whether the card will be unlocked without contacting someone else iyswim?
Thanks in advance for any help anyone may be able to offer. x
  • I can't activate one of my cards because it tells me I'm putting the wrong date of birth in.

When I called Magnum, they told me to email but i haven't had a reply yet - anyone got a way of getting round this annoying little glitch?

Hmmm... you bin lying about your age? ;-)

Once the money on the card is used up that card's account is effectively closed. If you empty the card you used you can tell RI that the account has been closed since the transaction; I think they should then suggest an alternative method of refund.

  • I paid my Big Yellow Self Storage bill with cards yesterday, no problem.

I called Islabikes from whom I'm buying my daughter's bike just to check whether they'd accept £170 in cards of £20, but they would get significant transaction charges as they get charged per transaction so they declined. I don't think that's unreasonable, in fact I kind of declined for them as soon as they'd said they get charged per card, which is why I called in advance. I could probably have offered to pay a surcharge to cover the expense, but I think they get charged around £2 per transaction so the cost would be excessive. I think that's true of most small businesses; I would think the big corporations just pay an annual subscription.
