used 5 cards in tesco no problem, declined in asda swipe an sign, the range will only accept 1 card per transaction.
  • Amazon are still saying that my bank declined the transaction . I don't get that as the card isn't anything to do with my bank. Did any of you have this reply, and if you did how did you get around it? The only thing I think it could be is at the bottom of the card it says 'electronic use only' which means offline. The t&c's say though on magnum MasterCard is accepted at most on-line shopping sites., and I see some of you have made successful purchases online.

When the merchant refers to 'your bank' they don't mean whomever your current account is held with, they mean the bank that issued your card. For the purpose of that transaction the card issuer is your bank; they hold the money from which you are drawing. In the case of Magnum cards it is Clydesdale Bank PLC.

I got my amazon email gift certificates finally through at 1am toay. I have entered another 9 in amazon, but again will have to wait 24 hours for then to be authorised so I can get all my gift certificates, then I will have enough to get my tele whoop whoop.

Not sure why yours are not working on amazon as I have entered around 20 on there now and all have gone through fine.

I have used some of my cards to buy items direct from amazon (the items dispacted and received), to buy vouchers from amazon (also received), to buy items form play.com (items dispatched and received). hthn :)

Have finally been able to purchase amazon vouchers with both of my cards :j. Amazon accepted my other card first time, so they asked me try the other one again, and it worked. Not sure what the problem was as I'm always very careful at entering the relevant details correctly.

Arrghhh more problems with Amazon. Still waiting on around 9 email gift certificates from Amazon that I purcharsed early this morning. Now just got an email saying they want me to fax my card statement etc to them to verify the card.. UMMM dont have these..

So just called Amazon to explain it was a mastercard gift card from magnum, and not an actual credit / debit card. The lady said she will forward details onto their card department. Am so !!!!ed off. just want to buy a tele .. this has been nearly 2 days and stil not successful..

Yesterday I used two £20 cards in Morrisons on a split transaction.

As soon as I got to the till, before anything had been scanned, I explained that I wanted to do a split transaction over two cards. The older lady cashier told me abruptly "no, there's no such thing. It can't be done". So I explained that most stores do it and certainly I have done it in other Morrisons stores (not true but hey ;))

So, the lady looked at me like I was some sort of bizarre bread-and-goat's-cheese-fraudster and loudly announced to the whole queue that she was calling her supervisor. The supervisor duly came and said "sorry, I don't know what those cards are - let me call my supervisor".

All the while, smug cashier lady was feeling very pleased to be showing me up in public.

So the supervisor's supervisor arrived, took one look at the cards and said "yes, that's fine. I'll just need to show the cashier how to do a split transaction and then explain to her what pre-paid cards are".

So, the transaction took a little while but the cashier was thoroughly chastened and sheepish by the time I left.

I told the Big Boss that the Magnum cards were flooding in now so they could probably expect a few payments like mine and she said..............wait for it.............."oh, a lot of people said they weren't bothering with the promotion as they thought it was a con so they threw the sticks away"

The moral of the story is, stick to your guns - if necessary print off the page on the Magnum site that says that everywhere with a Mastercard facility should take Magnum cards - and you should be successful.

However, I still think that the £1 validation thing is a pain in the bottom
