Yep, it's fine, transferred £16500 recently and got the cashback (well it's registered) and got the £165, and will keep transferring money back and forth till I get the full £200! The savings acct is now 5.5%, so not the best, but nevertheless it's a free £200. Thank you MSE!

Hi all, am new to this - just registered today!

Following Martin's advice, I got myself a egg money card and plan to apply to Buy and Fly keeping fingers crossed for good credit limit. Now, I need more advice.

I intend to put some of the money from egg money to egg mini-isa and the rest i want to cover my o/d in barclays current. If the cash back loophole is still alive -
    1. do i call egg and ask for transfer of egg money to barclays current - will that get me my cash back
    2. do i have to start egg saving and phone transfer it there first
    3. can i then transfer cash from egg savings to barclays current
    and finally
    4. will i get cash back for transferring to mini isa

Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • I've just had nearly 100 quid removed from my cashback on my latest statement which I had accrued a few months back from doing a transfer. Not sure if they're doing a general run through the accounts and they're getting round to everyone or if I'm just unlucky. Be warned.

    I've had a similar experience - although, at only £25, I haven't lost as much as you...yet!!!

I've updated the cashback loophole thread on the stoozing website with what happened to me...

Mine's still standing at £200, but I've got to wait until next March before I get my hands on it!
  • I think I've been sussed. My last message reads:

"My colleague has picked up your second message and has transferred the correct amount of £2300.00 to your Egg Savings Account.

Please be aware that you can credit funds directly to your Egg Savings Account rather than having to make an internal transfer from the Egg Money account.

For more information on how to pay funds directly to your Egg Savings Account please copy the following link into your web browser:

    new.egg.com/visitor/0,2388,3_11097--View_165-bID_SavPayAndWithdrawFAQ-dva_1,00.html

The Egg Money account gives 4% p.a. gross / AER on credit balances as well as 1% cash back on all purchases only.

    Thanks for your message."

My last transfer resulted in a -.01p reduction in cashback earned to date!!

    Grateful for any thoughts/advice.

My latest transfer request I've been told will be processed as a "refund request" rather than a card to savings transfer.

I think they are also going back over previous transfers and I'm waiting to have the cashback earnt reversed out. I think they have sussed this one!

My thoughts now are stop prodding the system and you may have a chance of holding onto cashback already accrued.
That's what I'm doing anyway. 'The grey man' so to speak.
Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc

Just rang them and they didnt seem too sure! apparently theres a limit of £100.00

just to clarify then is this correct...

I pay £100.00 into my egg money mastercard account (meaning I am £100.00 in positive balance)

as soon as this has cleared I balance transfer £100.00 back.

Will I get cashback on that £100.00?

Ive been told that I wouldnt????? Is that a lie???

    PLEASE ADVISE!!!
    INCREASE INTEREST ON SAVINGS!

...I will thank you if youve been helpful, please do the same! :j
