This is what is happenin with egg at the moment. I have a close friend who works for egg in the call centre.

Transfers over £100 have always meant to be done as a BT otherwise they get cashback. This loophole has been there since the egg money was launched.

BTs dont get cashback but regular bacs payments do, there is a different way of doing these on the system. Anyone that got cashback got lucky with someone not following the correct process.

They know of the ppl doin it wrong, and know it is on this site so have sent an email to all workers telling them the right process again.

So in my opinion it really is not worth the hassle because you wont get anything as they are clamping down on anyone not following the right process.

They werent retrained. An email was sent reminding them of the right process last week, it came up in convo when we were talking about work on friday night.

Apparently they do a lot of quality control so if anyone is found doing the wrong process they will be spoken to about it.

They did say this site was mentioned on the email and they were also told that some customers have been opening an egg money card and transferring money to and from it without even buying a single thing. They wont get the cash back.

I did ask if they knew what would happen with ppl that had already been paid the cash back but they didnt know. I think they said T&Cs says only purchases but didnt know if it could be taken back off if allready paid.

Sorry if any one else has any questions. I dont know any more and I dont want to ask my friend anymore because its not really fair on them.

I think they wouldnt mind me posting this info but as they said egg knew this trick was on this site they could see this, so thats why I think its not fair to ask them more.

Just got my Egg statement today 12th April, saying that I have already earned the £200 cashback. Did it in 1 month by transfers and a nominal bit of shopping. Have to look for a new cashback card now.
