As you've already pointed out foreign correspondent only thinks she knows it all - quite patently, from her posts, she doesn't . She does, however, enjoy chasing people off these boards - don't give her the satisfaction.
Unfortunately, rescue seems to attract these interfering, old busybodies who have relatively little hands on experience, but a hugely inflated "holier-than-thou" attitude towards everyone else .
I feel that your post is unfair and uncalled for, people can only put forward their point of view, and whether you take it or not is up to you.
If people sometimes seem to be `down` on the idea of taking a puppy, it is possibly only because they have seen the results of people taking a pup home only to be astounded and disappointed at what a lot of hard work and time it can take to train them.
Similarly, staff at rescue centres may seem overly reluctant to just hand over a rescue puppy/dog without lots of checks, but this is down to the suffering and distress they witness on a regular basis. Many times this will be down to people just taking an animal that wasn`t suitable for them or their home.
Please don`t fall out or stop posting, I feel that everyone who comes on here has the interest of all animals at heart, and heaven knows there aren`t enough of us as it is.The more I see of men, the more I love dogs - Madame de Sevigne0 -

LOL, only just come back on here - been doing a bit of old busy bodying locally
. Ive had 3 calls just today with people saying they have to find places for their dogs as they are losing their homes
Come on guys, a bit of a difference of opinion doesnt mean we all have to fall out. In the end we are all just interested in the welfare of the animals arent we.
Please dont anyone stop posting, we need the differences to learn.
Good luck down - hope he is what you want.0 -
I'd say the hissy fits and hysterical outrage that surface so often on this board put off far more people than the views of any individual poster. It's certainly what puts me off from posting much anymore.
Downs523, good luck with the pup, I'm sorry your thread has been dragged OT.When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.0 -

Puppy Farms are bad news 99% ofthem and there are hundreds ,over breeding you should see the stae of these places and how badly the dogs are treated .Many are blind and have other disabilitys from being inbreed.
Look at the Many Tears rescue in Wales they take many of these dogs from the farms when they are being disposed of ,they are the lucky ones.If you read about them you will read many horror stories about what happens to the unsold and dogs that have been replaced with another.
Any way people will always make a point about buying puppys they are not being nasty about ,we just hope slowly the point will get across and these places will shut down.
Many tears also have puppys just take a look for anyone who is looking for a dog.
You can also foster dogs which gives you the chance to get to know the dog then you can still adopt that dog.
Good luck with the dog you get!0 -
