Was there a reason why you picked this particular cross breed?0
-
no specific reason, but my uncle has a boxer we both love0

My oh loves boxers too, mainly because of one he saw swinging from a rotary washing line once! Why not look for a boxer then rather than a mix?
When you go to view will you see mum and dad? Do they own both?0

A beagle x boxer could end up much more like a beagle than a boxer, and its very hard to tell with a young pup which way they will turn out!
Plenty of boxers here, as I said, a lot are very young dogs, many under a year old. http://nrboxerrescue.co.uk/
I quite like boxers, but couldnt be doing with the dribbling!!!
ETA - as I said before, a steady, slightly older dog may well cope with being left a bit better than a pup may do. It is really important to consider all the options, as you may well have the dog you choose for the next 10-15 years! I think you could provide a lovely home for the right dog, but I am not convinced this pup would be ideal - it is an odd cross, and will be difficult with your work hours!0

Had a look (always fatal!) Zukie is stunning! I love them with the undocked tail. OH might get his way eventually!0

Can I ask if this " breeder " has had a litter like this before and what they turned out like.
Does the breeder know about how when combining these breeds what effect this has on any of the problems associated with this dogs
To me it seems like someone has just mixed the two dogs they like (or an accident mating) Although just found a site and there are literally everything crossed with everything, no thought about how these animals turn out.
Have you acctually seen what they look like as adults, and bear in mind they can turn out like anything as it is a cross. Ones i have seen look a bit like a harris hound, and nothing like a boxer, bear in mind pups can look completely different once their bodies shape.
These will be VERY high activity dogs and no walking (I don't mean a quick jiffy round the block) for at leat 6 hours may give you more trouble than you want.
I have had high energy breeds, seems to be the type i pick .Give them a 45 minuite bike ride at a good speed and they will still go on another jaunt with the next person out the door

I'd be concerned about the 'paper trained' thing - this indicates to me that the pup is already being encouraged to 'go' on paper in the house, and if you aren't at home after 3 weeks to encourage it to go in the garden, then getting it fully housetrained is going to be a long haul...........Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

There are LOTS of boxers in rescue at the moment - could you not take an older dog whose personality is already known? Some are only babies still.
It seems an awfully long time to leave a little puppy alone - I do hope the parents come in frequently. Could he not stay with them while you are out? If he gets the beagle baying cry he could drive the neighbours mad if he is lonely.
Heres just a few looking for homes about 50 of them - many more - we seem to be getting one in every week lately.

On some sites, you have to scroll down to see the dog listed.

            Even more boxers here:

 and boxer crosses here:
 http://www.dogsblog.com/category/boxer-cross/
A you can see, these dogs have often been assessed very carefully in foster homes, and as a result some are noted to be 'fine to be left for a few hours' whilst others need someone around... a tried and tested dog is likely to be a far safer bet for you than a pup which may be utterly miserable (and destructive, and noisy) when left alone!
As hethmar says:If he gets the beagle baying cry he could drive the neighbours mad if he is lonely.
Whilst you may 'like a challenge' the neighbours may be less keen if the challenge is an endurance test of daily howls and/or barking! If the pup turns out to be noisy you may have little choice but to get rid of it.0

            Also forgot to say.
By buying these " designer breeds" you are just encouraging mass breeding.
Everyone and anyone (buyers and sellers) seems to have jumped on this " designer" bandwagon and breed/buy without any knowledge on what they are producing/buying.
People think there is great money to be had so have jumped onto this.
Go to rescues, you will see masses of crossbreeds, just add a little dandy name to them and they are the same as these designer ones, .
When i buy a pup i like to know what im getting , temperment wise and health wise this just does not happen with designer dogs, and i'm not being rude when i say, you don't have a clue what you are going to get..
When 2 dogs are mated you can get some pros and cons of each breed in there, WHAT happens if you get all the cons of both breeds, doesn't bear thinking about with this breed.0
