That is good news debt obsessed!
I have been busy letter writing today. I am sending a please reconsider letter to Moorcroft who demanded £40 rather than the £2 they were offered. I have also sent another letter outlining our offer to Rossendales - they keep writing but none of their letters acknowledge our letter!
Slightly off track, we got a letter saying the bank don't think we are in hardship, but again making no reference to the updated SoA we sent or the fact that we are on a DMP. They are getting the 'please reconsider or we will go to the financial ombudsman' letter.
I will post these tomorrow.
Phew, this is quite tricky to keep track of - I'm glad I have a folder for the letters.
Good luck all - who knows what the postie will bring tomorrow!
Good on you for keeping on at them.
I know what you mean about keeping track. I took the weekend of from anything money (well apart from spending it:p) just to give my brain a rest.
I'm liking my letter folders too:T0 -

Thank you and good luck with yours. I'll be interested to know the response you get from Moorcroft. They are one of my creditors and I'll be approaching them soon with a F&F offer. Any tips?0 -
Another quick update - 2 more have accepted our offer and one of the council tax ones has been passed back to the council. So hopefully that is good news.
On the rather more annoying side, the bank cancelled my debit card in error, so I have spent an hour arranging for them to send me a new one tomorrow!
Debt obsessed, I'll let you know when I get a response!
Good luck all DIY DMPers!Ebay challenge 2010 - £525

Hi Kat
We have now rec'ed a letter from Cap One asking for bank statements and payslips. I'm just going to draft a letter saying we will not be sending them to see what happens.
Are you any further forward with them yet?
After talking to them on the phone and saying 'no we will not be providing you with these very personal documents' we got a letter at the beginning of the week which just asks for standard payment with charges added, basically the same letter we got before we sent them the SOA.
Thanks Gargrave for the interesting thread on CAG website, I will send them a letter to say that they cannot legally ask for those documents and send them my SOA again.
How are things with you Blue?

It is amazing how many companies write like mad to you, but when you write and offer to pay them something they don't respond. Madness!

Hi there
I did originally post this in the main forum but think this is probably a better idea
I wonder if anybody could offer some help? I am currently trying to sort out my own DMP. Egg is one of my creditors and despite numerous attempts writing to them ( all ignored) they have handed the debt over to Moorcroft. I duly did the standard CCA request on the 21st July to Moorcroft and finally recieved a reply on the 29th August with a copy of my loan agreement ( They had backdated the letter to the 20th August but the envelope was postmarked the 25th)
However I have just noticed that the repayment value is not correct as I took a payment holiday of 3 months about 2 years later ( the loan was taken in 2004) and there is no mention of this.
My question is should I request the revised agreement and maintain the dispute or should I just get on with trying to negotiate a monthly payment??0 -

There is nothing to stop you carrying on trying to negotiate a monthly payment, but the part of your post re: the validity of the CCA would be better asked on this thread below.

Hi everyone,
I have been reading through this thread with great interest and I too am thinking about doing a DMP myself (I haven't yet missed any payments but only because I'm using cc's to live on). You all mention moving bank accounts to keep control of what is being taken out but I have a question regarding business accounts.
Our current account, mortgage, one credit card are all with the same bank but my husband is self employed and his business account is also with the same bank - will we have to move this also?
