    How about this one...

Switch the car engine off when your going downhill to save a bit of petrol...especially in a traffic jam. My dad used to do this ALL the time, but then power steering came out and it's alot hard with power steering. Not all cars have power steering but if you do have power steering but your going downhill in a straight line (especially if your in a traffic jam)....SWITCH THE ENGINE OFF !!!

Save on hair cuts, just grow your hair... Some of my friends threaten to cut my hair everytime I see them, it's so long.
Also save electricity and only use computers at uni, work, library etc... hmm why am I using my home one then...
And one time I was in a pub and there was a plug right next to me with a lamp that wasn't on and if I'd had a charger for my phone/mp3 player/etc I'd have probably plugged them in... good way to save electricity, and getting kicked out saves money on drinks!

My husband and I delight in smuggling food into movie theatres. Not only do you get exactly what you want, but you dont have to pay the scandalous charges they impose on rubbish food.
In addition, when on holiday, we have been known to "pack lunch" from the breakfast buffet. We always find a hotel that does a full breakfast so we can pack some for later.

Oh, and a guy I work with steals toilet paper from the office.

I've noticed a few references on this thread to hair cutting, so here's mine
if you've got long hair in good condition and plan on a radical short/cropped style for summer, ask the hairdresser to cut it while it's in a ponytail then sell it on Ebay, don't laugh but i've still got mine from a few months ago tucked away in a drawer, I'm just waiting for a "free listing" day on Ebay

This isn't money saving, but it's a very ggod cause but there are charities that need real hair to make wigs for cancer patients, usually for kids.
If you're interested then try googling it.

I smuggle chips into the cinema too -those prices are crazy.

My kid used to have a brilliant time on the bob the builder ride every time we went into Woolworths - until his granny put 50p in one day and now he wants it to move:eek:

When I fill up the car I have got into the habit of squeezing just a little bit more petrol out of the pump before it goes up to the next penny on the dial - free fuel:rolleyes: I know it is crazy, but I have got into the habit of doing it now and can't stop. Thing is the dial goes up to the next penny sometimes and I have to squeeze a little bit more out... I'm stood there for ages - actually don't even think about doing it, it is worse than crack

regarding electic kettle v gas kettle

both parents and grandparents switched to a gas kettle and have had one for a whole year. we decided to go back and look at how much they saved over the year we worked out that their electricy usuage had dropped by 25% and the gas had only gone up by, wait for it...............................

    5%

if we had gas i would definalty swap as i have seen the evidence for myself, truing to convince other halfs parents to swap as his dad has about 1,000,000 cups of tea a day (exagerating a bit i know bit you get the idea) and get this his electric bill for the last quater was wait for it again.......................................................

    £350 - i kid you not

made worse by the gas bill being £250 the month before!!!!
Well we finally did it got a house not on a main road, next a railway line or any other werid and wonderful things that get on my nerves!!!
