At my local "drive through" petrol station, if your bill comes to 1p or even 2p over the £s...eg £20.01, just offer the £20 and say all plaintively "do you want the penny?"

Nine times out of ten they tell you not to bother. Result, 52p worth of free petrol per year!

A useful tip here for those of us who are post menopause. Unused tampons, and I had loads of boxes of the damned things - Tesco must have had a BOGOF on them years ago - make marvellous vacuum cleaner fresheners. Just soak one in a capful of cheap toilet water, eau de cologne, lavender water or similar - to which you might add a few drops of cheap and nasty "Christmas Pressie" perfume for added oomph - plonk into your cleaner bag and, hey presto!! You've got a rather classy pong emanating from your hoover as you clean. Much cheaper than buying those expensive vacuum cleaner fresheners - and for some strange reason, scent which smells cheap and nasty in the bottle actually comes out smelling rather fine1 This has been so useful that I've actually bought tampons from time to time for this purpose. Have tried this with ordinary cotton wool - but doesn't last as long - possibly because the tampons can absorb more liquid! Oh God!! too much detail!!
if i had known then what i know now

For those who have mentioned wanting to save on tampons or pads, buy one of these

    This thread is hilarious!

I've just found these on another site, thought they might make you chuckle

I began charging my boyfriend for the little sexual "favors" he requested. I thought it was a great way to make extra cash. He didn't agree and left me.

I thought I could kill two birds with one stone by doing my hand wash items in the toilet bowl. The flush actually made a great rinse cycle until my bra got sucked in. The plumbing bill totaled $300 and worse, I lost my favorite bra.

I like the using the showers at the gym idea! My gym has shampoo, shower gel, conditioner etc - and use their towels so saves on water, electricity and body and hair products!!

I have a rural drive to do 3 times a week taking my daughter to college. One day as I going along I saw a couple of pheasants crossing the road someway infront of me, a car was coming the other way and it scared the birds into turning back............straight into my path  there was a bump sound and as I looked in my rear view mirror there was a cloud of feathers and 2 other cars mashed what was left of the bird flat into the road. One did make it though.

But I'm sure I've read somewhere (cant think where now) that you can only pick up roadkill pheasants if someone else has run them over, because if you pick up your own road kill you can be prosecuted for poaching

Hmmm... yeahhh... I make a habit of poaching with my car. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
