    Morning all

Csarina - hope your move goes smoothly, sounds as though you are well organised though (and experienced) so it should be a doddle

Sunnygirl - Oooooh gastric flu, had a couple of doses of that through the years and you have my sympathies, its a horrible thing to have.

MSD - Sorry we have Hovis when we do buy bread here (ssssssssh don't let the BM know)

Well popped into doctor's this morning for BP check. Thats fine, but he wanted me to go to hospital for a glucose test as my last blood test showed that it was slightly high. We changed GPs about a year ago as we had no confidence in her but this one is the total opposite and is overly cautious. Rather that way than the other I suppose :D Have hoovered through and polished and cleaned the bathroom. Washing is on the line, it should dry but its very dull here in Kent this morning. Waiting for Mr T to deliver at the mo so a good excuse to wander on here. It's not worth starting anything else yet is it ;)

    Hugs to all xxxxxx

Loopy - take the test, at least you will know one way or another.

MSD sorry we have just stoped buying bread, we did get Kingsmill and I have search cupboard in case there was any bags in there but there wasn't sorry! Lillies sound fab though - where did you get them from???

Nimbo and SunnyGirl- take it easy hope you feel better soon.

    xxx

Hello all:D Not posted recently, been drowning under a sea of rubbish, house clearing, etc etc. My Dad sure could store the most amazing amount of useless clutter. Anyone want a cardboard box from 3 toasters ago? Or perhaps an electricity bill from 20 years ago, at another address :rotfl:Have barely even started on furniture and ornaments, the Estate Agent said it's best to leave the house furnished until it sells. Never the less, 6 carloads have been taken to charity shops/ his local dump ( and it doesn't even notice:eek:)

:bdaycake: Happy Birthday, Floss and MrsMW !! Hope you have lovely days:D

OS has been a bit thin on the ground, other than day to day cooking. Did a lovely pasta dish last night, the one on the philadelphia advert, with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and basil. Served it with a crunchy salad of grated carrot, red and white cabbage, and onion. Was really yummy:D
Tonight I'll be short of time ( again:rolleyes:) so it will be chicken stirfry. At least we're getting well over our 5 a day just in one meal:rotfl:

Ruthibe, been there done that, got the t-shirt. Of my 4, only one never needed nagging. One of my boys got the threat like your son. It may be that he actually does have a few more days grace. I hope so, I would expect the school to have phoned or written home before it got to this deadline. But as SunnyGirl says, there are always resits, and sometimes a good shock gets them motivated.

    Best get off, CM x

    I've been Money Tipped!
Sorry :o not OS, but little bear has been up to his usual tricks and I thought I would share.

He managed to get into a wardrobe I thought was safe. The amount of dust he dislodged, however, may have been a health hazard. I shall put up the details in my blog, but when I got to his room to see him proudly brandishing my last decent pair of stilettos and saying, 'oo' gave me mixed feelings - as did his proud attempt at 'bag' while clutching onto a bag around 40 years old and of sentimental value.

He is supposed to be eating his lunch, which is sainsbury kids sausage roll so only slightly unhealthy, with carrot sticks and grapes.

So - when I am finally feeling better I am definitely going to sign up to the flylady, the dust was horrific, also meal plan properly - I hate giving him sausage rolls for lunch. Please nag.

    Hugs to all

Churchmouse - it is lovely to see you, I am sorry that you are having a hard time. I hope things feel better for you soon. Also may use that salad idea, sounds fantastic.

Edited to add - I promise that I will not post again soon with a non OS post - promise!

Thank you for all your good wishes :A I do feel better just not very hungry which won't do me any harm anyway seeing as I love my food just a little too much :rotfl: Have been busy this morning making the pasta bake for dinner & I also did some chocolate crispie bars and a tray of Twinks for snacking. The kids have wiped me out of everything I bought/made last week so it was emergency baking. How I'm going to go on over the easter hols is anyone's guess  :D Think I'll be baking something every day. My lovely Mum has done me 3 victoria sandwich cakes & put them in her freezer so that'll help.

Sybil Little Bear reminds me so much of my DS2 who still investigates things with his fingers at nearly 15yrs old! Both he and DS3 were much later than DD in talking too. They seemed to work on the basis of why use the actual word for something when a point and grunt worked as well :p

Hope that everyone is having a good day. I'm going to sit down soon and watch the local news & weather.

sybil your posts are so funny.

I had a horrbile virus that dragged on for most of March but luckily my sister was able to help with the kids and I'm getting back to normal now. Today is baking day and so far I have made fairy cakes, muffins and flapjacks for the packups. We have a church meeting to go to tonight and want to take some thing yummy with me and I have lemons on the turn so I have to look for the lemon drizzle cake recipie.

I've not read the thread yet but I'm going to now. Hugs to all who need one.

smiley things are not woring for me today. Is it the same for everybody?

LOL My ex-H was still doing that at the age of 40 (pointing and grunting, that is.)

Before I forget, Happy Birthday Floss and MrsMW.

Isn't it amazing what you can find in the darkest recesses of the freezer? I was getting some raspberries out to make raspberry fool, and I found a container of gooseberries. I could've sworn we'd used them all up!:o

It's pizza for dins today, and as we're running a little short on cheese, I've spent rather longer than was comfortable grating all the little tag ends of the stuff I could find (Mr LW is a demon for opening several blocks of cheese and leaving little bits as he gets bored with one variety and moves on to another.) It's the farmers market this Sunday, so I don't want to resort to supermarket cheese, if we can hold out til then.

Actually, Mr LW is not in my good books today - I've been on at him for a week to book an appointment with the doctor - he finally did it today, but it's not til April 25th. Not usually a problem, but his meds will run out on April 19th, and they're not on a Repeat. Anyway, I've emailed a repeat request, and explained that he'll run out before his appointment, so I hope they'll prescribe them for him, otherwise his blood pressure will be all up again (not to mention mine!) Aaarrrggghhh, MEN!!!:wall::wall::wall:

WS - I love your posts and hearing about little bear :) I've always thought OS is about a way of life and seeing how it fits around other people's lives is the reason that I love this thread. :)

Well, the cake was cake. It was very sweet, spongy...

...and cheese flavoured... :rotfl: the other one was a sort of pancake filled with red bean (I think)... *shudder* and not sweet. Still it beats having to stand next to the (I kid you not) "peanut butter squid" stand at the station _pale_

    I've already finished the Hershey's...

I am flying back in a few days and stopping in Helsinki briefly en route.

I was on the phone to Dr Jeckyll for 40 mins, and am none the wiser as to what he wanted. Damn skype - as much as I love VOIP, it just means work follows me everywhere. I've just sent data to people in three different countries too and a waiting for a skype call from someone in Denmark. *shakes head in disbelief*

Apparently I'm going to medical school next week too - I've just had a message from their H&S department about my permit to work in their lab. I didn't know this, nor do I know when I'm going and how long I will be there - I don't think I'll ever get any sleep. :o Also got a message from the letting agent - they will extend our tenancy if we want it with a one month break clause and not charge us the fee for renewal if we stay, that's nice as we don't really want the stress of moving at the moment :)
