Good morning,
I've been ill with some type of gastric flu virus so have not been reading or posting since last week. ((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))) to anybody who need them & good luck with the move csarina. DH & I run a removal business so I know how stressful it can all be although you sound very organised. On some moves that we do we arrive as agreed at 8am or whatever to find that the customers aren't even packed yet!! Cue lots of frantic packing whilst DH & the men are moving furniture out lol.
Louise xxx
I hope you feel better soon SG and thanks for your good wishes for our move. The last few times we have moved the movers have done the packing for us, this time we just could not afford that, so we are moving all the small stuff ourselves and have booked 2 men and a van, we have used them before and they are very good. They moved a big dresser for us. We have allowed 7 days before the furniture goes and we have a few days after before the lease ends, so we should manage to get everything done. the carpet grippers coming up will be the last thing and I hope my son is coming to do that for us.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Morning all
Thank goodness I'm off today - spent 6 hours last night trying to get Reading tickets. I think ive got weekend tickets but panicked a bit and bought friday day tickets too - both eldest dds like the bands that are playing on friday so they'll make very very expensive birthday presents for themI think at some point dd23 fed dd12 but can't be sure.
dd12 is at the audiologist again today and then I'll be organising an easter weekend camping trip - just me and The Perfect Gentleman - I'm taking the whole family away the week before so will need the rest
Other than that I'll be climbing back on the OS wagon - its been a hectic few days and it's all gone to pot a bit
happy birthday Floss and the rest of you have a big hug - i'm feeling generousI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Good Morning All
Gosh! Its been a while again. Where does the time go!
I do hope everyone is well!
Happy Birthday to Floss and MrMW, hope you both have a great day!
Essex Girl - another one here who's got to get road tax! sadly I can only afford 6 months after treating myself and OH to tickets to see Michael Jackson.
Sunny Girl - hope you feeling better after your dose of the ghastric flu! Thats not nice!
Csarina - good luck for today!
Taplady - hope you manage ok with your 11hr shift!
Stefjb - well done for those tickets! Im sure the kids will enjoy it!
Ive been busy trying to catch up with the washing, its never ending.
Not sure whats for dinner later, prob savoury mince (made with quorn) with potatoes. Trying to use up what we've got before doing a shop.
DS is at home poorly today. He's been suffering with headaches all last week, and was sick at the weekend. After a trip to the doc's last night, it appears he as an ear infection.
Im doing a charity event in June, its called midsummer midnight walk, for a local hospice. Its walking for 13.1 miles. Ive had a fantastic response on my fundraising page allready! Im really chuffed with everyones kind donations. So my sundays are now taken up practise walking.
Anyway, best be off.
Take care All

Morning OS friends,
Sybil - well done to LB, am so happy he is talking at last!
Flosshon
Sunnygirl and PenPin - hope you feel better soon
csarina - sounds like you are really organised - well done.
Well the nurse came round first thing and was lovely. She told me she could feel a good vein in my arm but would use my hand as I had been used as a pin cushion enough lately! Sure enough, the needle went in first time and she took all the blood she needed while we talked about allotments and gardening. I told her about this comm but she doesn't use a computer. I wanted her to stay longer she was so nice.
My MIL was going to come over this morning to plant my tree lilies that I recently bought but has cancelled. These lilies grow up to 8ft tall in 3 years and as I adore lilys I can't wait to get them planted. I may have to sell some on, I have 9 bulbs and not sure I have enough room for all of them! This first year they will reach about 4ft tall and have at least 15 flowers so looking forward to that.
We have friends coming down for dinner tonight. My OH said he would cook but as we are emptying the freezer I am not sure we have anything suitable - I love them both so don't want to serve them fish fingers, mash and beans.. If he wasn't working extra today we could have made a fish pie, we have lots of frozen fillets and prawns. We will probably end up having a chinese takeaway which will dent the budget but be worth it.
Weather is grey so will probably use the tumble dryer to do the bedding. Not very OS but necessary.
Warm gentle hugsto everyone who needs or wants one - do something nice for yourself today.

P.S I know I asked yesterday but here goes for today too - apparently at the moment on pkts of Kingsmill bread and rolls there are tokens for Wallace and Gromit collectables. I know we all mostly make our own bread but if ANYONE has any spare tokens then I would LOVE them. Thank you xxTo be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -
Good morning!
Happy birthday Floss and Mr MW - hope you both have fantastic days!
Csarina - good luck with the move today.
Sunnygirl - ohh that sounds horrible, glad you're starting to feel better now xx
Stef - great news about the tickets, and the camping sounds fun too - we shall expect a full report about both trips, well perhaps not quite such a full one about the second trip lol!
Well I've woken up feeling very bright and cheery, hooray, cos feeling grotty and fed up was becoming a bit self perpetuating! Some cheery soul seems to have gotten confused over their dates here, I had salt in my sugar bowl - I made two cups of tea before I worked out what was wrong lol! Then there was something left to trip me up and I bounced down the stairs on my bum, luckily I have plenty of padding! Now I'm wondering what else has been booby trapped lol - can't wait for tomorrow!!!!
OS today will involve making bread, pizzas and cakes. I have been slacking in my cooking lately, usually I just whip things up whilst I'm pottering around, but I've been so off my food recently that the idea of cooking anything I don't have to has been icky! Best do a bit of tidying and cleaning as well I guess, sigh!
Anyway lunch today was chicken and bacon salad for dd2 and ds, dd1 and dd3 took hm sausage rolls, also apples, choc roll (see that's what happens when you don't bake, they end up with the shop stuff and wow did they moan!) and hm yoghurt and honey.
Dinner will be pizza, simple and I have half a bag of frozen peppers that wouldn't fit in the indoor freezer, and nobody could be bothered to go to the garage freezer!
Time for a cuppa and a nice surf before I get going, will fling on the pizza dough whilst I wait for the kettle to boil - hey it's a start lol!
Hugs to those who need them, and thanks again to everyone who has thought of me and my health xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Morning all,
Haven't been on here since Sat, had my DA & her OH staying for the w/end. Had a great time, DA is only 1yr older than me so we are more like sisters.
Stripped beds y/day got them washed, dried, ironed and put back on. Lots of bottles taken to recycle and lots of s&s done.
Tonight we have 15 coming here for a cheese & wine do. It's an investment club we run from our local and meet every last Tues in the month. Every-one will bring a bottle and some cheese. I have the BM on for 2nd time, have hoovered and will polish through later, need to sort out glasses and table ware and polish them. I've stocked up on crackers and nibbles but need to get some grapes, apple cake is in the oven nearly done.
The fire is laid incase it's chilly, lurv my inglenook and plenty of candles placed around.
I'm having DGD later so DD2 can catch up on sleep, hope she's a good girl, I'm cooking DD2&SiL2B pork chops, jacket and salad for their dinner.
MW and FLOSS, Hope you have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. _party_ _party_
CSARINA, Hope you have a stressfree move.
Off to catch up.0 -
DH has hung out the washing for me and I have some frozen bacon and pastry defrosting ready to make a large quiche later.
DD(23) said she will be home for Easter but has to work on Easter Monday so will not be here for long. It will be lovely to see her :j.
Feeling better than I have for days but coughing and still a bit wobbly so going to lie down for an hour then try to get something done.
Hugs to everyone that could do with one and see you all later"This site is addictive!"

Happy birthday floss
MSD - those lillies sound lovely
stef - well done on your ticketsI haven't looked this year but will try closer to the time when I know what my work schedule is. I missed it last year
crazychik - nice to see you back
Well, today has been quite tiring, we went up to the border between North and South Korea with the USO today and it was really quite an experience and really brought it home how lucky we are to live in safe and stable environments. Photography was very restricted and I was using a disposable camera for this bit, so what photos I did take won't be developed until I get home. We were taken down one of the infiltration tunnels and had a tour of the facility at the border and looked out from Mt Dora observatory. Some of the presentations were quite sad, especially given the current tensions in the region, but the soliders were really very good at explaining the history of the division. Was a little scary driving up through an active minefield on each side of the road.
So I'm back in the hotel now waiting for Dr Jeckyll to skype me from the US. It never stops...
Right - off to try and work out what this unidentifed cake thing is OH has just handed me. I cracked today as even Hersey's chocolate was appealingI think it was beef I ate for lunch, but I'm not sure and whatever I had yesteday really didn't agree with me (although I'm fine now as it was mercifully quick)
A lot of the resturants have tanks outside filled with amazing squiggly sea creatures, I am trying to convince myself that they are aquariums...
have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0
