OS Daily Tuesday 31st March

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 31st March 2009. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.

Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

it`s a lot warmer outside today so don`t be scared to go out i`ve woken up full of beans this morning and have put yesterdays washing away (mostly towels) and put another load in, i emptied the dw and bm before leaving the house and washed the extra pots and had a quick tidy round. I hope that today goes quickly as i can`t wait to get back home and potter around in the greenhouse.

I repotted some plants yesterday and i`ve just remembered that i intended to plant another courgette seed, i`ve filled the loo roll middle and put it in a cottage cheese pot but i`ve not put the seed in i shall do it later.

I need to update my meal planner and my shift pattern in my diary today as i`ve not kept up and i`m getting a little confused it dosen`t seem to take much to do that these days. No idea whats for tea tonight as the original meal planner has gone walkies so i`m trying to go by memory which is not a good idea lol.

Anyhow - i shall love you and leave you all to have a lovely day.

Morning Sunnyday and all who follow...
I've been awake for ages and thought I would get up and start some chores. I am, however, still in bed and surfing!
Had LO pot roast beef last night with bubble and squeak - yes, LO cabbage. In my other life, I would have just chucked the cabbage and possibly given the beef to the dogs.
Must hang washing on the line before I go to w**k. Lunch will be cheese salad sandwich (HM bread) and dinner will be S/K pie (HM, currently in the freezer) mash and peas/carrots. yum yum!
Not sure what the weather is doing here in Essex yet, sun is not yet up.

Lillibet - have been outside & its very mild, hopefully the sun will come out and it will be a lovely day.

Office day again today, didnt get time to bake yesterday but will make time today, washing in the machine which will hopefully be hung on the line.

Need to go to the post office to pick up 3 vans tax but no other errands to run today.

Pork kebabs with onion rice for dinner tonight, as long as I remember to get the pork out of the freezer.

Morning all

sun not up here either lillibet but def felt warmer on my way to work. Just having a coffee before I start! Sunnyday I second that - I want the day to pass quickly so I can get home and potter in garden. It was lovely having a longer evening yest after work. Only thing I had to try to restrain OH from wanting to plant everything out - think we shall hang on another week before doing so as we may yet have more frost I suppose.

Anyway lunch is tuna in hm bread and fruit. Dinner wil be a chicken curry and rice with naan.

Morning sunny, Lillibet and all to follow,

Not quite so cold here this morning, but still a chill in the air, yesterday turned out to be beautiful, so hopefully today will be too.

Got a white wash to do today, so will put that on in a moment, and get it hung out today. Cold roast pork for tea sliced, with mash and veg, so not too much prep, need to do my wii fit hour, and then I have noticed a couple more bits of paint which need touching up, so will get that done today.

Would like to get an hour or so in the garden, my baby toms need potting on, and need to get more seeds in, so will try to do that today. I am loving the lighter evenings, we were at the beach last night with little dog, till past 7 :T its lovely to be able to get out.

Morning all...................((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

Today's the day.....at last................woke just before 7am after a much better nights sleep. Decided to get up trawl through my regular bits on the computer and have my brekkie, then shower, dress and be out for the bus just after 930am.

OH's friend came in last night, he is going to help OH to pack the car whilst I have gone to collect the keys.

Its a nice bright morning, sun is just hitting the side of the camera pole outside. I found the little kettle last night, have a basket packed with teabags etc, tea and hand towels and loo paper, need the necessities of life, don't we!!!

I put our old bed on freecycle last night for collection next week, several replies, so I will check again this evening, will also have the kitchen cupboards on later.......

OH had another good day yesterday, he is still alseep, I just leave him to wake on his own, he will wander through about 8.30 I expect. If not I'll wake him, his pal is coming at 9.45 to start packing the car.

Right time for coffee and cereal....................see y'all later.........

Morning everyone,

Sun is shining here today. Been quite humid actually & the ants are madly building nests so more rain must be on the horizon. I got all my washing washed & dried so it can rain all it likes. I made a lemon drizzle cake this morning & 3 sweet potato pies. Bit like a pumpkin pie. I'll freeze 2 and have some tonight for dessert with the other one. I hope we like it. Made the pastry by hand so felt like I'd been in the kitchen all morning.

Starting washing my filthy lourvers upstairs but ran out of steam and rewarded myself with playing a computer game. DH wanted me to come to work with him tomorrow but I'll go Friday instead. There are some good specials on at the supermarket but they start Thursday so will grab them then. 3L Virgin Olive Oil $15. Save $19. Unlike Taplady I'm not into 4.30am starts & you can forget ala Hester at that time as well.

Good morning,

I've been ill with some type of gastric flu virus so have not been reading or posting since last week. ((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))) to anybody who need them & good luck with the move csarina. DH & I run a removal business so I know how stressful it can all be although you sound very organised. On some moves that we do we arrive as agreed at 8am or whatever to find that the customers aren't even packed yet!! Cue lots of frantic packing whilst DH & the men are moving furniture out lol.

OS wise its lentil soup for lunch and pasta bake for dinner this evening. Nobody is hungry at the right time since the clocks went forward I'm hoping that it sorts itself out soon. WM on its 2nd load, DW emptied last night and only a quick vac & S&S round in the kitchen & bathroom to do.

Hope that everyone has good days I'll try to catch up with the threads over the course of the day.

another nice one by the look of it:j shame I'm doing an 11 hour shift at work:rolleyes: the washing is on the line, house reasonably clean and tidy. Dinner for DH is in the freezer. I'm having mine at work.
