Hi aliEnRIK, You said to post back here if I have any more problems.
When I switched on my pc last night, I found that the desktop icons had changed - they are all in different places. I ran searches with Avast, Spybot and MalwareBytes, but all show no viruses.
The only unusual thing that happened before the changes were two Windows Defender notifications of known system changes - google updates (which I'd never had when using IE7).
Do you know what could have caused the changed desktop layout - and is it anything to worry about?

Not really. But computers are full of litle glitches like that
If you want to be sure then run a couple of scans. But I doubt youll find anything:idea:0
