Well an update. I bought from Primrose and it was delivered last Friday. I have plugged it in downstairs hallway and unfortunately, it has not deterred the mouse and the damn thing just stroll past it to come into my living room. Didnt see it but left enough droppings. But it does say you see a difference after about 3 days.

However, last night heard loud scratchings upstairs. The primrose devise has obviously not dettered the ones upstairs. I want to buy the B&Q one that frugalpam has suggested, to put upstairs, but does anyone know whether I can use the primrose downstairs and B&Q upstairs.

I don't think there'd be a problem using 2 different devices seeing as they are pretty similar. If I recall, the frequency on the B+Q one varies so that rodents don't get used to a particular noise. Since I've had mine (one in the hall, one in my bedroom) I haven't heard a single scratching or found any mouse droppings. I personally have found mine very effective.

Thanks for your reply pam. Can I please ask how bad was your problem and did it sort out straightaway or did it take time for them to leave. The one I got from Primrose, it has only been 2 days, but the mouse just strolled past it without a care.

What is a spanish mouse trap? Tried googling without result.

Primrose London device beyond my mouse control budget.

Mouse traps that you buy in Spain!:rotfl: (where I live).

They garrot rather than decapitate and imho are much more effective as the mouse has to walk right into the trap before it springs, therefore the job will be done quickly and tidlily. No just catching them by the nose as happened with one I used in England.

Hiya - I think it was a few days before it was effective (all this happened about a year ago, so its hard to remember exactly).
I had the pest control people out who put poison down, but the mouse/mice came back a week or 2 later. I saw one mouse once - and they reckon there's goodness knows how many hiding for the one you see

A few days after plugging in the B+Q devices, all the scratching noises (always at night) stopped. They had been in the airing cupboard (warm place, which mice like) but I've never found any droppings since, nor in my bedroom either.

Maybe I've just been lucky, I don't know, but I swear by these devices and keep mine plugged in all the time !!

Hope you get your situation sorted soon,

Pam

Perhaps it will take a couple of days for the device to take effect. I don't think you can make conclusions that soon. I'd give it some time and ofcourse you do have the 45day money back guarantee.

I have had suspicions about mice visitors in the garage for a short while but this morning we had a fair few droppings on the kitchen floor. Going to B&Q in a while and wondered if anyone had used this type of easy set trap before? http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9410924&fh_start_index=6&fh_location=%2f%2fcatalog01%2fen_GB&fh_search=mouse&fh_eds=%c3%9f&fh_refview=search&ts=1188323292809&isSearch=trueAm presuming it snaps necks like the traditional wooden ones?

I have had my primrose device delivered last Friday. I mistakenly left it on randon, but have sinced changed it to constant. I have blocked holes, upstairs and downstairs, and I have also bought the b&Q version and also the b&q sonic repellant. The mouse droppings are only a couple a night now behind sofas, but i have no idea where they are coming from as all holes in the house are now blocked. I have read the mouse can get use to the buzzing sound from the electrical gadgets, but the b&q version have different frequencies so they cannot get use to it. HTH. Freda.

fad1211 perhaps now that you've sealed all the holes the mice might be hiding in places within the rooms?

I've plugged my Pest Stop device in today in the kitchen, made sure its set to Constant and Ultrasonic and also cleared up any existing droppings. Now I'm waiting to see if it makes any difference. Fingers crossed!

I also checked their website http://www.pest-stop.co.uk. They sell a wide variety of devices and one which even covers 3000 sq feet and a greater variety of pests. I just hope this 2000sq feet device works for our house.
