As the person who came up with the idea of moving the HPC board to DT, I think you guys should be thanking me for the new friends you'll soon be making.0

Mind you Broders the style you used on this one is good, nearly as good as Nelly.0 -
Look at the state of you lot, it's pathetic. The housing boards are going to be such an oasis of peace and quiet once you guys are in the Arms.0

For the time being I've changed the name of the board slightly, to give more indication of what people will find.
However the team and I are going to monitor the board. If people continue to be abusive to each other then we're going to have to start PPRing more liberally - not somethign I like doing.
So please can those who get agressive, just calm down the tone, debate is fine but scathing anger simply doesn't fit what these forums are for.
Good rational decision not to move the board MSE Martin.
The good economic talking folk of this board never wanted it downgraded.
It is a small minority of terrorist trolls (like tupov) who invaded the board with the agenda of having it moved (or downgraded).
I am satisfied a middle ground solution has been reached and that the many good folk aren't being punished for the acts of the minority.Favourite hobbies: Watersports. Relaxing in Coffee Shop. Investing in stocks.
Personality type: Compassionate Male Armadillo. Sockies: None.0 -

BlondeHeadOn wrote: »I never liked the original move from a sub-board on the House Prices board, I think the quality of discussion of the board has declined following that move. It used to be a place of (mostly) serious discussion, and I learned a lot of very useful economic information from the posts.
Since it was made a 'main' board in its own right, many of the original and knowledgable posters have decamped to other boards, or indeed other websites. I can't really blame them for not posting here any longer - but wish I knew where they were now posting as I miss the thoughtful and insightful discussions that frequently occured.
So I don't really care where the board is moved to now - but I would like to know where the serious discussion is happening, as I would much rather be there!
I second this post...this board seems to have become a discussion board for Daily Mail readers...excluding recipes and horoscopes which are actually A star in the Mail.
If I read one more thread (well....I have given up on it now for that reason) about immigrants causing the recession bla de bla...I think I will scream).
This board was so helpful to me during the past 18 months, but it no longer always delivers............or, maybe, I am now in a different place. Who knows??0 -

Why do you need any knowledge of economics? The people running the country dont have any
And I've seen what the posters on here think of the people running this country! Why would I leave myself vulnerable to that?
Personally I prefer to have an idea of what I'm talking about before I open my mouth.
The speed this thread's moving at (who's a sockpuppet now? Or is it easier to ask who isn't?) I'm not sure I'll ever get my answer to why DT is invisible.0 -
longleggyblonde wrote: »I agree with Divadee and I think the point she was making, was, that some people come onto this board with the sole intention of trying to talk the market down for their own eventual benefit. That's all they're interested in doing. Why would these people who claim not to want to buy a property for years and years and years spend all day long (every day) talking the market down, hmmm? I think we all know why that is!!
Even people who don't live in this country continue to post all day long, and it makes one wonder if they're doing it in the hope of coming back to buy something for peanuts.
It's all very bad, and the only people complaining about the move of the board are those who talk the market down! What does that tell you?0 -

PPR = posting privileges removed. so, yes.0
