No it is people like you not allowing others an opinion then throwing abuse at them.
It was a forum to discuss points, not be preached at by some HPC loons who get personal when you contest what they say.
As usual the usuals blame the others not realizing it is their own insults and hatred that cause all the problems.
So anyone who thinks there is a lot farther to fall is a loon?0 -

It takes two people to cause an argument, though only one if the argument is with my girlfriend."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0 -

No but there are some fundamental HPC loons on here who allow no other opinions than there own.
If you put your view across they call you names or mock any problems you may have. They then get thanks for it.
I wonder why new people find that offensive.:rolleyes:0 -

very true.
Lots of the people who get embroiled in the posting faults of others on this board match them for vehemence. I think people sometimes can't see they are rude themselves, or that their vehemence is justified because in their opinion they are right and the other is wrong.
This of course is separate from the ridiculous issue with AEs and sockpuppets. You've just got to know that something is wrong if you are doing that, I would have thought0 -
I hate to bring this back on topic (vaguely) but of all the boards on this site this is the one I have learnt the most from. Despite the low post count I have been reading the board since its inception - I've just never felt I had anything to contribute to the discussion.
Would I have looked in here if it was down at the bottom of the listings? No - I didn't even venture down there until recently as I didn't want to go into an 'on-line pub' as the Arms title suggests, I wanted information and to learn something new about money saving and the economy.
I've been into the Arms a few times now as threads I was reading have been moved in there and I've not exactly been impressed - but then those kind of conversations are not what I first came to this site for.
Co-incidentally I've only today found the elusive Discussion Time. I thought I was daft not spotting it, but then I don't usually log in as I read rather than post. Why is DT only visible to registered members?0 -

True but I never said argument in the whole thread.
Are you trying to start one.;) (JOKE)0 -

Surely its people like you we should be begging to join in
I kind of like the "robust nature" as you put it. People don't hold back from saying what they think or !!!!! foot around each other. And although the insults and sock puppet accusations can get a bit boring, they can also be somewhat amusing (if you appreciate the irony of sock puppets accusing each other of being sock puppets, and people insulting each other then getting on their high horses at being insulted). It's human nature at its most honest.
To encourage me to contribute you would need to imbue me with a greater knowledge of economics and politics...and much more time on my hands (not all of us public sector workers find time to post at work  ). It takes a significant amount of my spare time to read through what's posted by others, let alone think and post myself.
