had a fab day today, been to scarboro with ian and the kids, was lovely spending time all of us together, kids bought him a card for fathers day, they think a lot of him, and have grown close. not seen my dad today, but i took his card and present yesterday, he knows ian works shifts, so we have to grab time at weekends as and when we can.

tonight ian has booked the hotel that we are going to be staying in on weds and thurs night, no kids:j so excited, never been away without my sons before.

hi, katie, the meal sounds lovely, as does your brother's wedding on the beach, hope it went well for him, i bet you'll enjoy watching the film when he gets back

The double edged sword, being Fathers Day. I've never known my real father, but naturally with having a daughter once, it made me sad she wasn't here to celebrate both occasions.

Hi all, hope everyone had a good weekend?

Been to docs. Was going to chicken out of speaking to her about feeling low, but ended up sobbing so she asked. I said it's the mood swings, one minute I'm ok, the next I'm not. Apparently that's completely normal for anything up to about 18 months after a bereavement, but that obviously even after that, the sadness will still be there. She said the anger all of it, is normal for that situation.

There you go - so I'm normal - just really don't feel like me very much. She offered to sign me off work for 2 weeks but I said I'm not really stressed at work. She said if it gets too much just to come back and she'll sign me off. OH thinks I should have said yes straight away - but I've never been signed off work, ever.

Then I started walking to work and kind of wished I'd said yes please but at least I know it's normal (whatever normal is of course) to be like this, so now I'll see how I go for a few days.


(and by the way OH did what I'd asked a bit later on in the day and then in the evening wanted me to make a cake so offered to make a cuppa, and made me one next morning too ).


Just need to work out how to get my car sorted out and how on earth to pay for it and then hopefully all will look a bit better (trying to convince myself anyway )

How is everyone this morning?
Don't forget to put on that sunscreen folks - certain meds may stop your natural protection from those rays. Mind you, we should use sunscreen anyway.

Um...where'd everybody go?
I know we're a bit quiet right now - hopefully it's for good reasons and also due to the heat. It can't be my personal hygiene 'cos I've just been through the sheep dip!

I've got a couple of things on today and I haven't read back yet. I don't know if I'll be back on here later or not. So enjoy the peace and quiet while you can!

Meanwhile, look after each other and keep out of trouble. Got to watch that sazzy! (Loves you saz hun);))

Morning Tiff.:hello:

I won't be on here much or at all for a few weeks as Im going on holiday. Two weeks lying quietly on a beach and not having to think about anything - wonderful!:D

DD1 is holding the fort and so Im leaving everything in good hands. Im a bit anxious about the airport bit (hate crowds) and also the flight because I don't like being shut in but I know its worth it when I get there and can relax. Have good family going with me so it will be fine.

have a lovely holiday beachbeth, where are you going?
am feeling very very anxious this morning, ds1 is in court again this morning, its the waiting around with the crowds once we get there that i cant stand, and very nervous of what will be said.
after i have taken him back to school, me and ian are going to blackpool for 2 nights, ds2 away on a school trip til friday, so no kids til friday teatime :j.
something positive to look forward to after this morning at the court

I hope everything goes ok this morning, Shaz. Sounds like an anxious time for you.

Im going to Majorca - so lots of sun, sea and sangria. We're all inclusive and so won't have to think about what to eat or where to eat it. So looking forward to the rest and relaxation.
