Thank you 2 caring people I don't want to get sectioned and I'm afraid that the meds they prescribe will make me like a zombie.
I just want to feel like my old self again.
I did attempt suicide in the past and almost didn't make it.
Please god I just want to feel well.0 -
That's a perfectly normal fear, have you been on ADs before and felt 'zombie like' or is it the fear of what it could be like that is scaring you?'Throw off the bowlines.

Yes I've been on ADs in the past(about 17 years ago) I was like a zombie on them and very aggressive and very bloated. I'm borderline anorexic so the thought of being more than 50kgs scares me.
Have meds changed today? TIA.0 -
A lot has changed in the past 17years ago. I can't claim to be an expert on Ads but i do know there are many options and essentially its about finding something that fits with you.
If you explain to them your concerns, which ones you took then and how they affected you they will consider this. But we're jumping the gun a little as it sounds like you could do with speaking to someone first for some advice on coping with your situation.'Throw off the bowlines.

Hi your gp should refer you to the mental health team. Another way to do this is through a hospital. If your feeling suicidel you need to go to A and E for a psychiatrist to assess you. They will refer you to the mental health team .
You say that you dont care about leaving the ones you love behind , if this was the case you would not be mentioning them in your post. Posting on here is your cry for help and a indication that you want people to intervene.
Depression is not something you can climbe out of by yourself. The sooner you tell your partner or gp the better. Medication can help to lift your mood. Its not a cure but its a crutch to getting better. Its a dark tunnel that your in but as someone who also suffers from depression, I can tell you that you will find the light .0 -
Hi
sorry to butt in but just come across this thread.
i have clinical depression, only recently come to terms with the diagnosis after 12 years of on/off AD taking. Have tried many AD's over the years and have just now found one that is starting to make me feel 'normal' again.Smoke free since 30/01/13 :j0 -
