ccstar, if i was you i would leave, you haven't been happy for a long time, but i know its easier said than done.
i remember you having a son, could he not help you out with internet access, etc.
as far as working, could you claim benefits, as you are depressed?, that would also cover rent payments regardless of area, at least i think it would.
as for the life alone, that is something i seriously struggle with, partly due to the fact i am tied to my sons., and i also lack self confidence. but i am sure you could do it, we just have to keep on trying, we have to think of our own unhappiness

I am not eligible for benefits. I have enough money to set up but not sure what I can do for a living. I am not feeling great, so feel I will attract bad people/things

me again, if it wasnt for this thread i would have nobody to speak to, so please excuse me while i moan, yet again joshua has ben excluded from school for rest of this week, just dont know whats got into him, he has assaulted staff, verbal threats to them and their cars, damaged school property, then when his taxi turned up, he punched the taxi driver's car, causing damage, few dents size of joshua's fist,
am at a loss what to do next.
on top of that ian is coming over tonight, which i could do without, as there will be tears after he gone, but no point putting it off as it has to be done.

hope everyone having a better day than me

Sorry about Joshua, Shaz. It must be such a worry for you when he behaves like this.

I was told by my Welfare Rights representative to claim for DLA, which I have done. I had no idea I could be eligible. How does it work? Do they reassess every 2 years? Are they likely to backdate it? (I told them I first started to suffer in 2000)

they only backdate it to the date you first ring them and ask for a claim pack. i only started getting it two years ago, after my cpn told me to claim it, before that i had suffered from depression for 12 years and nobody told me to claim. on my letter it says two years, as treatment may make me better,(i hope so, but way my sons are going who knows)
no harm in applying, all the best
