Bad day today :( I've had three really good days and am thinking I'm going to go back to work next week, but then today I'm having a really awful day. Horrendously tired, couldnt get out of bed earlier and struggling to keep my eyes open now... feeling a bit sorry for myself, wondering if I'm ever going to get better... sorry for being a bit moany :( x hope everyone's ok xx

  • Hi everyone - hope you're all ok & hugs to those having a rotten day today. Unixgirl try to ignore childish behaviour from others! try to step away and approach it in a different way to how u usually do - that normally takes the wind out of the sails of people who think they know how you will respond!

Mrs Ryan sorry to hear ur having a bad day, swings and roundabouts eh? Try not to let 1 bad day out of 4 take the wind out of ur sails, its only to be expected. I've had 5 really good days and today I am feeling really nervous!

I had an interview this afternoon. I think it went really well so now just have to play the waiting game. Back to work for me tomorrow, trying not to get myself into a tiz about it! Lots of love to u all, stay strong and remember how brave u are x

  • Hello people.

It's been a few years since I posted on this thread. I had been doing ok until this autumn when my depression has become overwhelming again. I have actually had a good year workwise haveing been promoted, and my sister had her 2nd baby in June which was cause for celebration.

However despite me rationally knowing I deserve the new job and am more than capable I find myself crippled by my brain! So I have:

    Gone to the gp
spoken to my line manager (who is being an absolute brick - he is explaining to my only colleague)
phoned our staff helpline (resulting in a morning of on and off tears)
    Told my sister

I can't allow myself to get to the stage where I am as bad as I was 3 years ago - I have my new job to bed in, and still have the oh to care for.

Thanks for listening. And looking forward to catching up with those who remember me!
  • hey kentishlady - another kentish lady here (always get confused about the kentish man/man of kent but I am led to believe I'm definitely the former). You've been here before (we all have haven't we?!) remember to give yourself a break at the moment, sounds like you have a lot of work/pressure & also the winter months combined with this make it hard. We should all remember its ok to feel crap & sometimes we just need a bit of nurturing, love & approval from ourselves x

  • hi all, hope alls well with everyone and picks up for those who need it.
im a bit down/blue at the moment, mainly because of the fact im wanting/needing to lose weight and am not, no reason really other than boredom/comfort eating. plus my 9 year old washing machine has given up and broken, my gas oven not working properly, cant afford to buy one suddenly but dont want to use savings unless really must.
plus im really wanting to do something like getting back into horse riding, plus holidays but wonder if i have illusions of grandure.
if not i think i am missing company as i dont get to go out and see people much esp as ive had to walk away from toxic friendships.

    Ho! Ho! Ho!

No, i'm not insulting anyone and neither am I a fat man with a beard dressed in red, but i'd like to wish everyone on this thread a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from myself and my lovely girlfriend, Noemie.

I hope you all have a stress free Christmas and if I don't speak again in the meantime, a happy and healthy New Year.

Sorry you are having a rough time.

Walking away from the toxic friendships may not be a bad thing.

Have you thought about volunteering at a charity shop or something to get you out and meeting people?

I hope with your savings you can at least buy a new oven and washing machine. Important to have both of those if at all possible.

    cheers miroslave and true.
the washing machine has been taken as someone i know helped me to shift it downstairs till i could get the council to take it but the funny thing is someone took it? i heard a bit of banging outside to find the machine gone and a large white van pulling away from where the machine was on the green by the entrance to the flats?
i can still use the grill and hob at the moment so will be making the most of it for the moment and see if a deep clean will do any good.
it not so bad looking on the positive in the side ot things, it just things seem to happen at once. at least i dont have to worry about stressful friendships anymore.
will definatly look into volunteering, been considering doing some at a stables to earn a ride plus gain some experience. will have to fit it around full time work though but a good idea.

Well, it's good the old Washing Machine has gone and I hope you get a new one. Sometimes something new can give us a small lift.

I'm glad you have something to use to heat your food, especially in the winter months.

Things do all seem to happen at once and it can send you into despair.

Would be good if you could get into some volunteering as you'd get alot out of it provided people don't take advantage of you.
