Excellent news Jo, apart from the Tribunal re-schedule. BTW - if you want to say thanks to Martin, you can send him a PM (click on his name here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/49910299#Comment_49910299 and proceed as usual. HTH)

Happy New Year one and all.

I hope this year brings you blessings xxx

  • Happy New Year to all.
I'm in the middle of a crash with my head just below water. My negative thought processes are awful - DH couldn't believe how bad they were when I told him what my brain was thinking.
Dreading taking DS to a birthday party this afternoon.
  • Morning all, how is everyone today?

  • Hi everyone sorry I haven't been around for the last month. Just caught up with everyone's posts and big hugs to all of you. Shaz good to hear that the move went well.

Things for me have been better than when I last wrote, although still not 100% where I used to be but a lot better. I made a major decision and decided to leave my current work and got another job in my home town. This has actually helped me so much - when you're struggling with something it is hard to see the woods for the trees isn't it? Still difficulties with my children but sadly I can't change them so decided to change something that I was in control of - seems to have worked for now.

Other than the job change and working with my counsellor I'm not sure what has changed. I'm hoping to get stronger and stronger and be back to my old self this winter.

Just want to offer you all lots of love and belief that things can and will get better x

    Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is well! Went out last night in the hope it would boost the happiness levels. Sadly this has failed and I feel worse that I did before :(

I don't even want to leave the house these days for anything other than work. Although i like my friends, I don't even want to go out with them anymore. It's weird... is this common?

    Hi Borrisx
Sounds quite normal as far as symptoms of depression goes, I'm afraid. Have you seen a gp?

I went to the dreaded 4yr old's birthday party yesterday, and once I was there, I quite enjoyed it, although when I got home the negative thoughts came crashing through with a vengeance, like they'd been hiding around the corner in a big gang. I fought them back with some gardening today, a bit early for some pruning but it did feel good filling the wheelie bin.
  • yeah its normal for me. I think its because I'm having such dark thoughts and I don't want to let others about it
