I need to write about my worry
My mother and stepdad are living in a flat and both there neighbours are keeping her and the other neighbours awake at night with loud parties. The other neighbours need to work the next day
She has involved the police, managing agents, the council and nothing is getting done.
It has been several weeks of this and my mother is ill, She is 76 years old and I am worried this could make her gravely ill. My stepdad is very deaf, so OK but he is old.
The noisy people are tenants, my parents own their place.
I feel so useless and not been sleeping well myself. We have helped her as much as we can but feel we pay these people and getting nothing back. I feel these c**ts are getting away with it.
My faith in the authorites is being tested to it's limits
I feel so angry:mad:An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:
:eek::mad: :beer:
I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
Oh you poor thing - you must be so upset:(
RIP to your cat - I still miss my cat after 14 years
Sending huuuuuuuuuuuge hugs to you
We'll get through. She is sorely missed.
Sorry about your cat. He/she will be proud that you have never forgotten.
With regards to your post about noise, we have a similar problem. These people just have no respect and right now, i'm not in the mood for them and their disrespect, so if they play loud music anytime soon, i'll have to bite my tongue or i'll get myself in trouble.
Authorities don't tend to do anything, but I bet if your mother put her rubbish out on the wrong day, they'd do something about that. They never deal with the real problems, these councils etc.0 -

Hi Sam
Welcome - don't think I've seen you in here before?
I don't personally know of any books myself but I am sure there will be someone along who knows a bit more than I do! Maybe I should find out myself LOLDealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

Hi all
I think today is a good day :j
I'm waiting for a delivery from the furniture project with DD2's new "big" bed. It's secondhand but is in great condition and only cost £10!
Just checked online banking and all my DDs have come out fine. I can now repay my dad the money I borrowed thank goodness! Had a couple of charges come out and I think I have two still to come but thanks to getting on track with keeping chart of things I should be able to deal with those when they come out and not incur any others from now on.
I am also looking into reclaiming bank charges. I keep saying I'll do this but last night I finally got round to checking out the bank charges board and hopefully either today or over the weekend I shall be posting off the initial letter to request my bank statements.
I always feel quite upbeat when I am getting things done. Have done a bit of housework and now having 10 mins with a cuppa as baby has been asleep since I got back from taking DD1 to school.

Good morning lovelies :hello:
Yay it's friday! And a long weekend beckons :j And it's sunny!:D
Hope everyone's doing ok. Miro, how are you today? Big hugs to you, you were so brave yesterday - I don't think I wouldnt have been xx CC - that's rotten what your poor mum and stepdad are having to put up with. Some people are so inconsiderate, it makes me :mad: It sounds like you've tried most avenues, but all I can suggest is don't let the council off the hook. I've had long-running planning permission issues (and I'm talking years and years here) with the neighbouring owners of commercial premises and when I say the council is bone idle - that is the understatement of the century:rolleyes:
But what they didn't reckon on was sazzy's bloody-minded determination lol - I bugged them and bugged them into submission. And this was when my depression was far worse than it is now. I got there in the end. It's not easy though. Would your mum and step dad be able to keep records of the noise? I know some councils will issue noise record sheets for this purpose, so you have evidence to back up your claims. I think the council can also engage the services of a mediation agency. Good luck hun xxx
samuelthomson - welcome to the thread. I'm afraid I can't recommend any books, partly because I've only ever had face-to-face counselling myself, but because we are not really allowed to discuss treatments here, it's probably best I leave it there:) But glad you've found your book to be useful tho. Anything that helps is a bonus.
Have a lovely day everyone :wave:
Much love to all,

I don't know about brave. It's something that had to be done and Paws had to be respected, the way she always has been.
Still can't stop crying when I think about/talk about her. She didn't deserve to go now.0 -

Its completely normal to feel like this - it shows you are human and that you care. Im sure my old girl will be cuddling up to your cat. She was very laid back and didn't mind anyone snuggling up to her. My other dogs treated her as though she was a big cushion because she was bigger than them and so soft and cuddly. She would love to comfort your cat and any other little animal that needed to. I just wish that I could have a cuddle of her too.
You are a lovely person to care so much. Take comfort from your other cats - I took comfort from my other dogs when I lost my eldest and it really helps. Im sure they know how you feel and why you feel like that.0 -

I can tell it's normal by other pet people's comments on here. I nearly typed pet owner, but i've never really felt that way. I'm more of their 'daddy' and friend than owner.
I hope your dog is cuddling my little girl. Paws is friendly, never started a fight with anyone, even the other cats. When they had the odd disagreement, always started by the others, she would just look at me and flatmate and we'd already be there, gently seperating them. She loved the extra protection and always thanked us after. Not that she couldn't look after herself. On the rare occasion the others wound her up, she looked after herself. So small, yet so brave. Not saying my other cats are mean, far from it, but you know what cats are like over territory. They share everything, but certain places are personal faves of each and even though others use the space, each one thinks the sofa/a box is theirs primarily etc. Paws will probably be sitting next to your dog now having seen us talking.
We are comforting each other and they have all smelt the 'sleeping cat'. I don't know if they know it's her, or they are sniffing the smell of wood.0
