Had a really good day mentally on Friday, had a day off work with an upset stomach, but otherwise I was buzzing. Yesterday started well - had planned a little excursion out to see a favourite steam train 'in action' ( I know, I'm a strange woman) but had to distance myself from the family as my two teenage boys were just bickering and yattering and I just wanted to be able to take in the moment in peace and quiet.

It all kind of went downhill from there - I went and did a 'big shop' and the anxiety attacks started there and just continued almost non stop when I got home :(
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Rashka might be easier to do an internet shop for a while, supermarkets are not great places if you are suffering from anxiety. Luckily my tescos is very small, ( the first one in the country) but when I had bad anxiety I couldn't go there on my own.

I do my shopping by internet. I can get quite anxious doing a big shop in the supermarket. Plus Im not so likely to impulse buy on the internet like I would if I was in the shop itself. Its much easier too. No queues or trying to load your shopping into your car in the rain!

Evening Mouse, I hope you'll feel better really soon, look after yourself :)

RASHKA, I agree about giving the online shopping a go, but don't let it become a habit.
For a long while I would shop online, then I realised that I wasn't facing up to my fears by staying at home, so I now shop at the quieter times and in the smaller stores.

I am lucky that I have the support of my O/H, he has the patience of a saint, and has had to bring me home on many occasions instead of doing the weekly shop, but I persevere and eventually I get there.

Look after yourself, and only do what feels right for you :)

    Have a great night everyone.

  • Hello,

Part Mouse - hope you feel better soon x

I've played netball today, but feel more tired than ever. I enjoy playing and don't want to give it up, again been told its good to do. I just concentrate on the game and forget everything for an hour.

Doctors in the morning, see where we go from here. Not sure I feel any different yet, not crying since Wednesday is a start, but feel anything could start me off. Still feel bad about myself, and take everything as a personal criticism. Little comments just hurt. Worried about harming, I've started to not leave any accidental scratches or cuts alone, keep picking or scraping away at them.

Getting anxious about going to work tomorrow, last 2 weeks of my job before my redeployment. Its just been a horrid time. Not sure can do it, and wonder if I really should take some time out before I get much worse.

Best thing about the change of medication is no nausea or upset stomach.

Best wishes to you all and take care of yourselves

    xx

    Hi Mouse,
don't feel guilty about not working out, you'd only do more harm than good trying to push yourself when you're ill.

Also had far too much to drink here :o but it's too late to stop that tonight, I'm aiming for an alcohol free night tomorrow. :D

My husband's brother died this afternoon, he had cancer which eventually spread to his brain, I have to admit, it's a blessing to see him go, that person wasn't him right at the end.

    Thanks Mouse,

I think I only mentioned my brother-in-law because I'm trying to justify my drinking tonight to myself, pretty sad huh?

I just may take you up on the offer though, although I'll try and do it when I'm sober as I think I may ramble on too much.

    Thank you,
    Alison.
