Support for people with Depression

Evening all.
Had a bit of an "off" day today. Slept a bit better last night, still ended up getting up and going in the spare bed but got about 4 hours. Started off quite positive this morning but I could just feel myself zoning out and just didn't feel like doing anything by this afternoon. Obviously I was at work so had to plod on but just felt a bit miserable today. Haven't really done anything since I've been in from work either. OH made the tea and done the dishes which was nice so I've basically just sat on my backside. Trying to motivate myself to do some ironing, or strip the beds but I just can't seem to make myself do it.
Hope everyones ok

losingpatience that sounds like me most weekdays (OH cooks whilst i sit on my lazy bum). long may it continue :j(i'm not depressed). can't say ironing or bed stripping ever sound like an appealing proposition. that's not laziness, it's not liking doing boring things. Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0

but having depression doesn't make you a failure as a person whether you've been born with it or whether you've developed it. would you say someone without a genetic disposition to cancer was a failure because they developed it?
environmental / life factors can make a person suffer depression. whether that's something really obvious like a partner dying or getting sacked or less obvious factors like parental influence and who your friends were at school.
every day you deal with depression you are a success.
Good post, ninky

As a disabled person, I experienced real, blatant, discrimination for the first time, the other day, which was quite upsetting.
I've read other people sharing their experiences, but to actually be at the 'receiving' end of it, is quite shocking. I was very upset over it and find it hard to comprehend just how rude some people can beThere is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. Its funny because I was like that yesterday. I felt full of beans in the morning. I got my ironing done and took some of my dogs for a nice walk. I felt quite positive and even made a nice, healthy salad for lunch. By about 1.00-2.00 I came over all tired and didn't feel like I could do anything else. Luckily our tea was a chilli I had cooked previously and got out of the freezer so I didn't have a big dinner to make. I ended up snuggling on the sofa with the dogs and having a doze. It was such a contrast to the morning though. You tend to think your whole day will carry on the same.
Hope you have a good night's sleep tonight.0 -

Hope you are ok pipkin, it's awful when you find out just how nasty people can be isn't it. I saw someone I know yesterday and told her I had been in hospital over the weekend and her reply was why? all you do is shake a bit, you probably took a bed from a really ill person.
