The 13 things that PMS stand for all apply to me, Tiff! Hope you are not too tired today after waking up early. I love being awake early before everyone else is up (especially if I can have a cuppa) but I don't like how tired it makes me later.
Shaz, I really hope those supplements work but they certainly had no effect on my pms (although I haven't tried agnus cactus). I bet your nurse doesn't suffer with pms. I have a theory that people who tell you to take B6/primrose oil don't suffer with pms and have no idea what its like.
I joined the NAPS website for some advice and it cost me £25. A doctor sent me an email suggesting I try a different pill (but not saying which one) and also saying that the mirena coil could help (but not saying how) and I wrote an email in reply saying that Im disgusted at the lack of information Im getting for my £25. They've apologised and said I can email the doctor again for more info or I can have my subscription back. I just wish I could see someone who knows about pms and understands how horrible it is.0 -
morning all
Tiff, thanks for those pearls of wisdomgave me a good giggle. Hope you've been able to get some sleep. I woke up this morning with my nightshirt ON........ and it wasn't on when I went to sleep
. Must have been up in the night, but don't remember .
beachbeth and Shaz, *big hugs*. I don't get bad pms now, but I did when I was a teenager. Mum got me evening primrose oil and that helped. Hope your agnus castus works. I wish men got pms as well, then maybe something would be developed that actually helped!
blushred *big hugs* to you as well, hope everything is going OK so far. Still got my fingers crossed for you, makes washing up difficult, but worth it!
I better get ready for work...... hugs from me and purry head rubs from Hannah and Lucy to anyone who needs one

Hello lovelies :hello:
Just on the pms front - mine seemed to get worse as I got older?I think I may have said this before, so forgive me repeating myself, but since switching to a low-carb way of eating and taking 1000mg of omega 3 every day, it has definitely reduced my pms. My GP actually suggested something similar to me a few years ago - which involved dividing up the starchy elements of meals (the bread, rice, pasta, spuds, etc) into smaller portions throughout the day - something to do with the fact that starch raises insulin levels which in turn interferes with the take-up of progesterone, which in turn can worsen pms, I think. This is not me giving advice, just reporting my experiences. And different things work for different people. Do bear in mind tho, with any nutritional approach, it's not like taking a headache tablet, you need to allow several months for the body to adjust to the new regime and with supplements, you need to ensure you are taking a high enough dose of the active ingredient - cheapo ones from superdrug or wherever aint gonna do it... I'm starting to sound like Ted H now, aren't I? :rotfl:
Ok i'll shut up now:o lol
Hugs back to you PC - hope you have a good day at work xxx
Beth I think that's scandalous charging you £25 for info you couldn't found on the net for nothing, grrrrr! Quite right they should offer you the money back. xxx
Have a lovely day everyone
Much love to all,

I am the queen of PMS, I have had it all! PMS really is a curse. I had PMDD which is extreme.
I agree with every poster on here about how much lack of help and understanding there is out there.
Ever since day one of my puberty, apart from being 3 months + pregnant and breastfeeding, I felt it blighted my life!
I was discussing it with my OH this morning about it being a temporary disability, so if a person cannot walk for a week or so every month, then is able to the rest of the time would be the best way to describe it. I was saying how I cannot function during that time and it is like asking a person in a wheelchair to walk. I think the grumpy angry moods come about when you feel pressured by commitments and you simply want to have a break.
I do wonder if it is to do with women's lifestyles too. We never get a day off. Men who work 5 days a week tend to do less around the house and have a break, even the more caring ones still use the weekend/time off to take a break! Working or not, women don't get much time to rest and I guess if the hormones change as well, it is the straw on the back.
It is interesting that PMS has come up on this thread and wonder how much depression is hormonal or whether it is something else as well.
NAPS were useless imo and Dr Dalton:mad:
I had my ovaries out and it has decreased dramatically but I still get the one week where 'it all bores me rigid' and want it all to eff off!An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi CC hun - very interesting to hear your experiences xx
Shaz - hope you have a nice evening out and that you get a better sleep. Loathe as I am to admit it, I always feel LOADS better if I sleep well.
Well, I'm on the train home from work and feeling knackered.
Can't believe it's only Wednesday:rolleyes:
Hope everyone's doing ok.
Much love,

morning all, feeling loads better this morning, had a lovely meal out, and a couple drinks, and slept loads better, even with the world's loudest snorer next to me lol.
me and ian have decided to move into together next month, must get my wardrobes sorted out now, to make some space for him.
ian has the day off today, so we are having a quiet day, just the two of us, having a stroll round town, which will be nice.
