Hey Guys! :hi
I was wondering where you'd all disappeared to...
From what I've read, we've got two engagements, congrats and big hugs to LadyMorticia and Sazzy(and Badger)! Also to mpsmama for her baby news. Any other news I've missed?
Big hugs to tiff, Tulip, Miro, QB, rosie, Shaz and anybody else I used talk to and have missed out.
I have news. I got married at the beginning of August. Remember I was wanting advice about a year ago about a lovely guy who'd asked me out, and I wasn't sure because it was only three months after my ex died? Well, he's helped me so much over the last year, I'm off the tablets and feeling happier that I have done for a good few years. Our wedding day was the best day of my life so far *sniff*. Here's a pic of us...
I came back to the thread to say thanks to everyone who supported me and kept me sane last year, and hopefully I can hang around and dish out hugs in return.

It's really great to hear from you - I often wondered how you were - you'd had such a tough time of it and I wished with all my heart that things would get better for you because I instinctively knew you were a good person who deserved to be happy. So this is music to my, um - eyes?!:D Wonderful photo too. Congratulations to you both :T

Poppy - you married a man in a skirt? Doesn't that worry you??!
No seriously, that is lovely news that things are going so well for you. Long may it last. What a lovely bright outfit you're wearing, so different from the usual type of thing.0 -

-I know. My Mum persuaded me to wear the white jacket over the red and yellow, think that was a good idea as it was a bit bright!

Awww everyone helps everyone here, that's what's so great
Me and badger - well where do I start lol! I guess we got to know each other first through MSE and this thread in particular. Chatted on MSN for about a year before we met up. Went to Cornwall together in August of last year and we've been together ever since:) And since 9 minutes past nine on the ninth of the ninth '09, we've been engaged. PC honestly, no-one is more surprised than me - I think it's all still sinking in!
I loved your wedding outfit too. It's nice to see you looking so happy

-What a great way to propose! You enjoy the sinking in phase, there'll be enough to do later.... you got a date yet? We chose 7/8/09, he has no excuse to miss our anniversary!

-ThanksI was very happy. DH had a wee greet saying his vows.... didn't help that his best man had had him in the pub for the two hours prior to the ceremony! The white jacket was not my idea, but it toned down the red and yellow!

Hi guys!
WHOA THERE - THIS IS WAY TOO MUCH HAPPINESS GOING ON HERE FOR A DEPRESSION THREAD!
You know full well that we have a certain level of misery to maintain in order to qualify for EU funding. Or is this just a conspiracy to get our consul, ettie b, and her attache case carrier, sazzy, another free weekend in Brussels?!
It's great to have so much good news flying around folks. Who'd have thought it - sazzy and gilly-badgie engaged, pc newly wed, our miro pregnant and nps standing for Parliament!I may have gotten a little confused there but you know what I mean.
I'm sending a sincere Tiffyto paulo silvestre (paulo).
Thank you for posting and sending all the good vibes hunnie - they are always welcome here. Pull up a chair and make yourself at home.
And welcome home to ettie b, nps and pc!It's great to hear from you all again and to hear how things are going with you.
Anyhoo, morning all. How are we? I hope everyone is in fine fettle this morning?
..........
Or should that be, in fine fettle this morning when you finally get up?!
C'mon then, let's be having you - you remember what happened the last time you left the Tiffster alone on the thread!
Well, you were warned...let the piccies commence!
Aah, the good old days!Of course for some of us, this is much more recent history than the good old days - you know who you are!
Well it looks like I've got a lot to read back on so I'd better get started.
Oh btw miro, I hadn't forgotten about you - I've had my claws manicured 'specially!
Be kind to yourself guys.
Much Love,
Tiff xxx"If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought." ~ by Peace Pilgrim.***'You just got Tiffed!'***0 -
Congrats to anyone who has got married, engaged or had nice things happen to them.
I am struggling again. What is it about September and people being a/holes? It is the end of the holidays and people are being all official again and I hate it:(
My stepdad died in July which was not surprising but still rather sudden.
We have been helping my mother since we came down south and she turned on us last month, have not spoken to her for over 3 weeks now.
She is funding our son's extravagant lifestyle and saying we are gold diggers for trying to prevent her being taken for a mug by him. She moaned constantly about him being this way then buys him things or pays his bills. Now my stepdad has died, her income has dropped.
We are feeling pretty upset by her doing this to us. She started hitting my OH when he stood up for me, the whole situation is ugly and horrible.
We are having to work harder to get an income, as we have set up our business and not got an income like before, so that means less time to help her. She is a young 77 and very capable. She also has a very strong outgoing personality, so making friends is no problem to her.
We went away for a couple of days last month and since we got back, we have felt empty and depressed. I did a job in my local town last week and the people were so hostile despite me being friendly and pleasant. A Big Issue seller hoped I would get Swine Flu and die. I have written to them about this thug and they have ignored me so - Big Issue is on my ignore list for sympathy now.
We are going to have to leave our current property in 8 months and they want to inspect every 3 months. They want to knock the place down when we leave so find the whole procedure pointless.
We are having to work out where to go next and how we are going to make money, but right now, we have colds and felt it is all pointless and empty. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:
:eek::mad: :beer:
I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
Morning :hello
Big hugs to you CCStar... I think its the nights getting longer etc that makes people snippy in September . So sorry to hear about your Stepdad's death and your Mum's strange behaviour. Grief does funny things to a person and its always the people closest to them that suffer. Its difficult but try not to take it personally. Hope you get rid of those nasty colds soon.
Hey Tiff! Good to hear that your still here and dishing out smarties! :rotfl: How are things with you? Oh btw, I have two cats now.... despite being a 'shush' dog person!
Hannah and Lucy say good morning and give purry head rubs to everyone who'd like one. And Poppy gives big hugs to anyone who needs one.
