Thanks everyone, I'm really touched Gem - he took me out for dinner and waited until 9 minutes past nine (on the ninth of the ninth, 09!) and then presented me with a little box:D Beautiful violet-coloured tanzanite and diamonds on white gold. Never thought in my wildest dreams this would happen to me - I am very lucky. No date as yet - going to enjoy this feeling for the time being I think - but watch this space;)

Tia, welcome to the thread!glad your appointment went well today, its always a big first step, but you've done it now and hopefully you'll get the help you deserve. I've had smilar expereinces with doctors, there are 2 in my surgery i refuse to see (one reduced me to tears and gave me sleeping tablets when i'd just told him i was suicidal!)but i'm lucky i found a good GP who actually takes an interest in MH.

If its any consolation flueoxtine did nothing for me, but there are always other meds they can try its just a case of finding one that work for you
