Boots used to do something like this many years ago and I still love it. Wholemeal bread with cream cheese. ham or thin roast beef and crunchy bamboo shoots.

Hard to beat is a banana and raspberry jam toastie.

have some other sandwhich ideas prawn and salad, crab salad, crab paste, lovely piccalily and meat sandwhiches , sweet baby beetroot advocado chicken and salad, and two invented sandwhiches that are sort of heathyish no1 banana, apple and cinamon sandwhiches, using some of your home made bread or a 70pence loaf from the bakery at tesco preferably wholemeal butter 2 slices of bread try to use a healthy option like flora light.peel and chop one banana use it to cover 1 slice of bread then cut in half and chop one half Cox s apple chop 1 half only into small pieces and cover over the banana. lightly sprinkly a little cinamon and a tiny sprinkle brown sugar or if you dont have use white sugar. cover with the other slice of breadcut into attractive looking triangles and serve with the second half of apple chopped into slices and bob yours uncle a healthy and not so 100 per cent healthy cheap sandwhich giving you 2 of your five a day. the second sandwhich using a small 99p tin red tesco salmon drain tinned salmon mix up with a fork untill it is all mixed in and finer looking spread on the bread, slice up thinnly one large plum and cover with bread cut into attractive rectangles or triangles there you go plum and salmon sandwhiches. when we were young my brother use to like beefburger sandwhiches mum use to buy a pack of 20 frozen burgers and and theywould all go but my favorite sandwhich has definitely got to be a chip and brown sauce sarnie can t beat a chip sandwhich better than a romantic encounter.:rotfl:

This seems to be popular in Belfast. A sausage roll in a buttered roll. I ask you, how much fat and carbs do you need and no I have resisted trying this with no difficulty

one of my fav sandwich fillings is cheese and ham and then put in the sandwich toaster. not only is it cheap and yummy, but a nice hot lunch for a cold winters day. or even or a light evening tea on a hot summers day. Any excuse for a toastie sandwich, yum.
