So sorry to hear your news mummysaver, I have two cats and dread that happening but they love the freedom to come and go as they please so I just keep my fingers crossed they don't run in front of a car.
Cold here in Hemel Hempstead, DW on for second time (still not washing very well so very non-OS to keep putting it on, will call out British Gas tomorrow who I have Home-Service with). Two loads in the WM and out on the line, probably won't dry through but makes them smell nice and will finish them overnight on the clothes airer.
Roast pork today (on offer in Sainsbury's), just listing some things on Ebay to make a few quid for a weekend away at Easter (first time we've been away on our own since having the kids and Son is 20 now!)
Have a nice day everyone.0 -
RANT WARNING - TOTALLY NONE OS
How can MP's like the story for Jackie Smith claim 24k pa for her house expenses, 40k a year for her husband being her "assistant", on top of MP pay - boy wouldn't we all like income like that! This is not political and I think applies across the board.

Morning everyone!
Mummysaver, i am so so sorry to hear that......you must be devastated
Well i seem to be nursing a little hangover this morning - 'few' drinks last night for BIL's birthday turned into quite a late one! I must have had an inkling this would happen as most of the chores got done yesterday so today i only have to do a wee bit of ironing and maybe potter in the garden for a bit if the sun stays out! Thats if i can get the hammers in my head to give it a rest!
Donny-gal, i agree! Words fail me!
Me and OH have just had a bacon butty and will be chicken fajitas for tea. Not very sunday-lunchy but will be nice all the same! :j0 -
afternoon
beautiful day here, although there is a lot of frost and ice about in the shady parts.
done a bit in the garden at last and it looks lovely.
doing Pen-pins pork chops with mushroom sauce for lunch , it smells delish.
mummysaver so sorry to hear about your cat (((hugs))) to all the family. our neighbour came round to us yesterday saying he thought our cat had been run over, thankfully (for us) it wasnt our cat, but a very friendly ginger cat that often sat in our garden.
penPin I do hope you are ok , I know you wernt well yesterday
been to tesco this morning got there just as it opened , it was great hardly anyone in and I managed to only spend £40 :j the whoopsied section was full and I helped myself to a fair bit of meat which should last us a while
hope everyone gets chance to sit in the sun today0 -
We have been to the post office and done the change of address its cost me £32.50 for 3 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   you have to pay for each individual name you want to re-direct.........I just cannot get over that....its even the same post lady who delivers.........
I am shattered, I was going to go to Dunelm but have decided to collect the laundry, do the veg for supper and go to bed for an hour. ...........think I am just about burnt out before we start, both mentally and physically.........we have a 'day off' Thursday but only because we have an appointment at the hospital for OH in the afternoon and the carpenters coming to the doors in the morning..............The boot sales ahve started again at the shopping centre....they were getting ready to close up when we got there, but really most of it was rubbish.........I've sent better stuff to the charity shop.
OH seems to be ok again today, fingers crossed........offsy to finish the chores and get my head down for a while, even if its only reading a magazine.......................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Hi everyone.
Haven't caught up with yesteradys thread, so I hope you are all well and huge hugs to those that need one.
Mummysaversorry to hear about your cat
Donny-gal, I agree too, I think it's sick and perhaps even more sick that the system allows them to get away with it. In my mind an MP should be a public servant and shouldn't take advantage like that; anyone that is capable of doing so simply doesn't have the moral fibre for the job.
Well, today has been tiring, we treked out to an art gallery/observaory on the top floor of a tower, then took a river boat up the old olympic stadium and walked back along the stream that runs through the centre of the city (probably covered about 12km walking, OH is shattered poor thing). Tomorrow we are catching a train at 6am to see some limestone caves at Danyang (about 3hrs outside the city) then tuesday we are off to to the DMZ, the zone between North and South Korea. Hi all,
Happy birthday to Funky Fairy and La-Cara...have a good day both!
Freezing cold and windy here, am still going to put large items on line as I have too much to put everything inside....hopefully they wont end up on the N7! Still, it is to be warmer to-morrow ( yeah, right!)
Feeling in slightly better form to-day....steak with baked pots and salad for dinner, beans cooking for 3 bean salad, need something filling as not much steak to divide by 3...DGS is gone to see his other grandparents.
Might make a weetabix cake ( OH loves it) and chocolate sponge while spuds are in the oven, can't be turning it on for one thing.
Csarina....won't comment on changing address charges as haven't changed mine for forty odd years, when it was free, no idea if there is a charge here now.
No comment on your MP and expense charges....have enough problems with our own politicians to comment on other countries
Mummysaver....hugs to you all, still fill up when I hear of a lost animal.
Hugs to all who need or want one, congratulations to all who are celebrating, welcome to any newbies and thank you all for being my friends.
