I would like to declare at £143.06. Not bad really! We are really stocked up so next month should be ok.

  • I only joined halfway through April but it was a resounding success with a projected figure of £160, and I came in under budget at £87.90 (under budget by £73.90)

This was because on 21st April my husband found out he was going to be made redundant (and subsequently has been) so the shock forced me to re-think my shopping habits, as well as using up what was in the freezer/cupboards.
    Start Date: 27/11/2010
    Padding: Day 42
    Target £8000
    Amount: £562.23
  • Hi
I'm declaring on budget for April, had upped the total due to Easter. Getting the hang of it but need to be vigilant. Always surprises me how easy it is to lose the plot. I get in a rut, then get bored and then overspend. Need to consult the recipe books.

I am declaring at £57.45, which is £2.55 under budget. :D Absolutely delighted with how well it went this month. It seems going home to revise not only gets revision done, but means I can eat well on a strict budget. Now off to the May thread for next month....

    Hi,
OH went for our last shop yesterday and managed to only spend 89 pound (must send him all the time as he always seems to spend less than me).
So have managed to scrape in at 318.98. :j
My month was running to 9th May, but only thing I might have to buy now are eggs.

Would like to try for 320 pound again in the May Challenge.

Sorry this is late but better late than never :D

To date: Annual Grocery Budget £1200 for 3 adults in 2009:
    £559.31/£1200

    April spends - £96.47

Remaining for rest of the year - £640.69

I'm going to try to stick to £15 per week on essentials and that will allow me £100 for bulk buying bargains and storecupboard stuff, plus an extra £15 at Christmas for the turkey. It's getting more and more difficult to keep a tight hold on this budget, though!

Off to find this month's thread, sorry I can't keep up with all the posts but please accept appropriate responses to each and every one of them. :o
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
