Have already spent £57 of my £120 budget for May. I've had a stinking cold and have been sending Mum for bits of shopping cos I was NOT in the mood to plan. You know how it is, when you feel rotten you just want goodies!
Went to A today to get lentils to make the Spicy Bean Loaf and guess what? Yes, Im home with everything but!
I will get back on track - will have to be a genius to stretch this till 15 th but I am determined to do it!
Off to update sig - have a good day all!

I am so confused...why is it may already?? :(

As Cheryl says, some people work from payday to payday rather than month beginning/end. And we can post our may targets on here and MrsMc can prepare her list for the May thread which will be started very soon by Pink ;)
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

  • Hi all

I was once a part of the GC and fell so far off the wagon.....

Have been slowly climbing back on with a few other challenges, think it is time to rejoin you guys if that's ok?

I am going to aim for £120 please, this includes toiletries, my groceries and bunny's groceries. Am hoping to bring it way down, but think i need to overestimate my first month to make it feel like i can actually achieve it.

have been looking through the recipes, so cooking and baking here i come, i am already in the habit of bulk cooking and freezing 3/4 portions, but i could definitely do more.

    Thanks

I stocked up on loo rolls from Waitrose yesterday. For just 99p a pack they are called Regina and are the camomile one. Truly lush! The best ever! So I emptied the shelf and will be back for more next week!
Ive not found that any cash n carry beats bargains like this so its a case of fill up my trolley when I see it and I never run low. I am constructing a tower in the bathroom at this price! A far better savings venture(100% interest) than any savings account or investment! Well that is my excuse for being rather eccentric.

Is it only in Waitrose stores they have this offer? Just checked online & a 4-pack of these seems to be £1.99:(

I would think its only Waitrose. Normal price is indeed £1.99-special offer price 99p til about 7th May I believe.
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults
  • Well I've not posted this month - short holiday and Easter seems to have put me all out. However, I have been following the menu plan and saving receipts, so last night I did the big count-up. Not declaring til Thursday, but so far I have spent £183.78. More than I thought, but well in budget. Some spends in my stockpile budget as well £33.84, but these were VSOs ( very special offers) and not for using this month. Very little left to get, washing up liquid (somehow managed to run out totally:confused:) and I think that should be all (fingers crossed)

This month's plan is to finish my price book. I'm doing it very simply as a list of target prices, tho I'm tempted by some of the tales of spreadsheets. Any bright ideas gratefully received.

Mrs M could you put me down for £250 again, tho will probably have to revise as DD2 + partner + 9month twin DGDs are moving in soon. Will be doing the challenge together then and will revise both budgets into one. Testing times in this d**n credit crunch .

Will be back to posting for May, just off to update siggy.
