Evening all
Just to update spends this is first spend of May - did buy quite alot from Mr T's and Mr A's but hope that's the "big" shop for the month and now further shops will be smaller! (Have DS2's birthday this Sunday and we're away so will buy a pre-made cake and hopefully have a BBQ - hopefully that won't break the bank). Have meal planned for this week and should not need anything until I shop on Friday.
Keep safe and well everyone.
Regards

I've previously joined in on the grocery challenges, then other things occur and it gets pushed into the background. The trouble is that leads to spending more than I need to on grocery shopping.
We're now planning on going to disneyland in a few months so it's time to stick to budget again. I've given myself a target of £250 for the three of us - one adult and two children and that includes lunches when we go out but not meals out.
I'm also going back to menu planning again but we don't always know when we're all at home to eat and there are no set days for being in or out. However, some forward planning will hopefully avoid reaching for the phone to order a takeaway when I have no idea what to cook.
I've done my first online shop with Sainsbury's today and will be ordering with Asda this week too, which will give us enough for the next few weeks. I just need to top up then with milk, bread ect and will also be including our veg box delivery in with the budget.
I have to say, it's been a while since I have done this and I am looking forward to be more organised againThere is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -
Is it only in Waitrose stores they have this offer? Just checked online & a 4-pack of these seems to be £1.99:(
They're £1.29 in Sainsbury's at the moment. Normal price £1.94.There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -

Morning everyone - I've gone over yet again £256.83 for April, think this was mainly due to the 2 weeks the kids were off School for Easter and the fact that prices are rising continually and my kids are getting bigger and eating more. With this in mind I'm setting £250 for May as my target MRSMC and going to keep my fingers crossed.
Wishing everyone luck that have still to declare - have a good day and I'll see on the May GC.;)"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

Havent added up my total yet. Spent £13.04 on the 24th, and £70.90 on the 27th. I will probably have to buy more bread and milk for this month, as the kids are going through it all like mad. So just off to update my total.
Next month I probably wont do this, as I am in the process of moving and think that meals will be hap hazard, but I will be back with avengance in June no doubt, as there will only be DS and myself, then. Big change from 8 of us in January.!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
OK I,m declaring at £521 for April - which is a lot over my target of £400 but round about the £500 I had estimated. Easter didn,t help as dh did some of the cooking and he tends to get what he wants to cook rather than what we have in - and we had a big stock up at the Chinese supermarket. I,ll start May today and will put my total over there - dh is abroad for a lot of it so we might have a freezer challenge month - I keep saying that:rolleyes:“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”
