Catenorfolk, he's in South Wales. Do Scottish and Southern Energy have an outpost anywhere near there?

Swalec is the local company. Go to scottish and southern energy website and look under careers or jobs. Scottish and southern energy are a massive company, with places in scotland, wales and england. There are all types of jobs. Maybe give their HR team a call to see if there are any kind of vacancies.

    Hi tyrone,

Sorry I couldn't find the other interview thread to reply to. Did you get any feedback from the interview at all? If you didn't hear from them, you can call up and ask - it's well worth it as you can use it for next time.

    Best,

I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok - they know me here! :D

It's so frustrating trying to find work right now; I mean, even worse when you encounter bad service. How the hell have they got a job when I can't get one? *le sigh* I hate the jobcentre, I hate not being independent... :(

I think what is so desponding is that you can't get any feedback on why you weren't successful although one cannot expect any organisation to reply to 500 applications. Secondly you sit on the computer all day trawling through job sites looking for suitable vacancies and even apply for ones were you may be over qualified just to get the job but of course no response. I have applied for numerous jobs that aren't advertised and still no luck, but at least I get a better resposne from them even if it says no vacancies at present. You cannot afford to get out and about as that costs money so basically you are confined to your residence and probably 1 room in said residence resulting in you going stir crazy. I have no idea how unemployed people can go and afford to sit ina pub all day if that is what tney do. As you have no income you cannot afford to tackle those small jobs that you have been putting off for years.
In the meantime you start to lose your work thought agility and process and become even more despondent as you know you can offer an employer a lot and you want to work to earn a living instead of living off the state. I do not even get JSA any more as I am now on income based contributions and only get rent and council tax benefits. As my spouse earns just above the threshold to claim tax credits, we cannot apply for those.

I have the same but still no luck! I try and adapt each CV as per the job being offered as I have a wide range of experience. I used to work in electronics but this sector has moved so fast and far ahead that my qualifications are well out dated.
Have to admit when I first started signing on last year, the Jc wanted to know all the in and outs of my applications but now because there are so many people signing on they turn you around within minutes. To give them their due, our local one has been very supportive and understanding.
  • well i just thought i would update this as i have not been on here for a while, lately I have had a few interviews. I had one on june the 22nd, but didnt get that job, then i have one in place for the 16th of july at a college. I had an interview last friday and had a call on tuesday saying that I had got through to the last stage of interviews which is good news but.........5 minutes after receiving the call to say I had got through to the last stage I had a call from my very first interview back in april!! they explained that the person who beat me to the job had left and as i was their second choice they wanted to offer me the position! So i took it! Its working for the Higher education funding council for wales so its got to be a decent place to work!

I just cant believe how things work out!
No more dole from now on and back to living normally!

So to those of you looking for work, perserverance is the key as well as a bit of luck..you never know what will happen!

I start on the 16th of july!
