Anyway, got to go and peek under the lid of my slow cooker again, so ciao for now! :D x

Every time you take the lid off, you are putting the cooking time back by 1/2 hr :naughty: so you must stop it as its going to cost you more in electric ;) xx

Yes, I've not listened to the CD yet, I'm a bit cynical about all that hypnosis stuff myself! I tried to stop eating my dinner when I felt full and was surprised that it was about half of what I'd normally have! I definitely think my problem is I'm too good a cook, I want to eat everything cause its so yummy! :rotfl: x

    Evening all :hello:

Bit of an odd day Chez Morwenna. Still missing Ex-H. I know he left me and I know that was eight years ago, but his sudden (and very unexpected) passing has left me very sad and not just because of the children..

Still, today I had to laugh. I was quietly reading my book when the pudd people (!!!!!cat mother & daughter) ran into the room closely followed at speed by my DS aged 23.) Apparently, while he was doing the bins, a very small field mouse got into the house via the back door. All was well however, he rescued it (in his hands  ) before the cats caught it and has released it onto the neighbouring field.

O/S today has been sausages, onion gravy and mash with carrots and broccoli for tea. We had cheese and chutney barmcakes for lunch and the washer has been going constantly  Off out with friends later.

Happy anniversary Taplady & Taplord and hugs for all

(((hugs))) Morwenna. Hope you have a better day tomorrow. Laughed at the mouse story though!!
Been fairly organised today and hoovered lounge, moving settees and'stuff' so it got a good clean.
Just had left over spicy soup and waiting for fish fillets to cook then having those with salad.
Been to MrM and got a LOAD of veg and salady stuff so the fridge is full. We're fine for packed lunches this week and I also have plenty yum yum food for DS(22) to eat when he comes home for the week on Mon. He's a student, living in a flat with 4 others and I still remember the feeling of opening my mum's fridge when I came home at his age. It was great to concoct sandwiches with different fillings and not just cheese or the one slice of ham. He calls them man-wiches and I'm delighted to indulge him for a while. He has been feeling very down lately so it's extra special to have him home, even for a short while.
Ok, the fish has beeped (my microwave is handily an oven too!). Hugs to those who would like one.

  • Thanks for the nice welcome messages, I'm looking forward to "getting to know" this group as time goes by. I had a nice look around some charity shops this morning, some of them are so expensive! But picked up a couple of paperbacks, and the best thing a BRAND NEW JUICER! Yay! I've been wanting one of these for a while but it wasn't top of my list and I didn't want to buy another gadget to store in the cupboard....it's a Moulinex, only £5, I spotted it in the window as I was leaving the shop and snapped it up. Made fesh apple juice this afternoon for DD and I and we had 6 apples between us...need to buy some cheap fruit at the market next week. Have a nice evening everyone.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Morwenna - congratulations on your felines. Evil cat was once confronted with a mouse and she determinedly looked every direction but the mouse until the poor thing escaped. I told her she was sacked.

    Non OS day today.

Well, sort of. Bought some yellow stickered dips which we nibbled on all afternoon with carrot sticks and bread sticks. Little bear thinks dips are wonderful (these were all variations on hummus) but was less impressed by the carrots at first.

Switched off the lights (apart from the night light in LB's room) for the appropriate hour, after scrambling to find candles.

Decided that next weekend we were having a Salamagundi, so need to update shopping list.

Lucy locket - Well done on your bargain juicer!

    Hugs to all.
Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!
