Morning all,
Its another bright sunny day here, no snow, just a VERY hard frost, everywhere was looking very pretty an hour ago....... we are told that we will NOT be getting the snow, this often happens we are surrounded by hills and the snow dumps on the other side, if we do get snow then its really bad...........
Had a shower and washed my hair, not going out for my walk for a bit, need to cool down a little first. Going to walk up to the market with my granny trolly, need some carrots, thanks to us not going to Paris I have had to eeekkkkkkk out this months menu's..... I feel a couple of extra pasta meals coming up......
KC I really hope things sort themselves out, its very stressful moving anyway, but having this added to it makes it so much worse, but you could put the screws on the people above you.......that or get them to agree to meeting your out of pocket expenses for renting....
CQ hope you are feeling better soon, I know that woman flu feeling its horrible, you do not want to do anything other than die in bed!!!!!
PP hope the hospital visit is ok, by the way what temp for the biscuits??????
(((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))) to anyone who needs them.
OH has just brought up a cup of tea, so I am going to sit and drink it and enjoy the sun for a few minutes.

Good morning everyone,
Hugs to everyone who needs them today :grouphug:
Busy day for me today, must take DS to the doctors, as he has had a nasty cough for weeks now, and the last few nights he has been coughing all night, im sure they will say there is nothing they can do, but its worrying me now, it has dragged on so long.
I also have 3 little ones here today, but they love it at the doctors, lots of toys for them to play with, so should be ok, and with the promise of toast and gluing when we get home, im sure they will be fine.
WM is on, and have a bit of cleaning to do once back from the doctors, but not loads today.
Had to ring my hospital consultant yesterday, as ive had an appointment to have my wisdom tooth out, and nobody had got back to me about whether they wanted to see me before hand to check my platelet levels. Apparently they have arranged for me to goto the hospital for tests on the Monday beforehand, but nobody had bothered to tell me!!!!! I had to explain how difficult it was going to be for me to get there on the Monday with only a week and a bits notice, and its only for a blood count, so they have agreed to let me have it done at the doctors. They will then ring me (yeah, right!!!) to let me know if i need any transfusions, which will need doing on the Tues and Weds before the op on the Thursday, goodness, its all confusing!!!! All for a silly tooth, but never mind. I just wish there was something i could do to get my levels up, or even if there was a way of telling what my levels will be, as i wont know until the Monday, it means i cant tell the little ones parents that i look after whether i have to go to the hospital or not!!!! It is such a pain!!!!
Well, ive just got back from school, and taken DS to doctors, as we thought, its a cough, his chest is clear and there is nothing they can do!!! Oh well, at least when he stays at his dads tomorrow i can tell him i have taken him, and its not my fault he still has the cough!!!
As this has taken me 1 1/2 hours to type (well i did pop out!!) i havnt read all the threads, so hope everyone is ok, and Kiwi chick, hope you get some better news today re your move!!!!
Take care everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Carrying a conversation across from yesterdays thread but did anyone see Pay Off Your Mortgage last night?
For the first time in the whole series I have nothing but admiration for that family, especially the woman. I really hope they make it. She had no qualms about doing anything including foraging from the hedgerows. I thought her kids were lovely and had such a brilliant attitude to life. I can't see either of mine agreeing to live in a garden shed for six weeks, where did I go wrong?Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Morning all :hello:
Well I was browsing the daily thread yesterday but didn't have time to post. Went back to work after 2 days sick and had SO much to do! TBH I don't think I should have gone back either yesterday or today, and I've already told my boss that I might go home at lunchtime (am in the good books cos I just fixed a calculation table she'd been struggling over in one of her spreadsheets). Two of my colleagues are off with this bug, another plus my boss are surviving it in the office, and the person I really, really need to sign off most of the work I'm doing has been off for over a week with a nasty chest infection
I'll own up to the fact that the main reason I went into work yesterday was that I had free tickets to review an opera in the evening and couldn't have justified going if I'd been off workIt was a good show, though, and an early finish, and my headache almost disappeared while I was there. Back with a vengeance this morning - though not until AFTER I'd got on the train to work
So, quick round-up: CONGRATULATIONS to PP's DD and Queenie's DS, and I hope it works out for Gettingitsorted's DD as well.
CONGRATULATIONS also to brummiebabe, who will be next I wonder? I think you're the fourth regular with baby news in quite a short space - think MrsB was first, then SomersetPrincess, then Michelle and now you!
kiwichick - hope you're on the way to resolving your housing problem. It must be so stressful for you with three children. It gave me panic attacks the last time I didn't know where li'l old me was going to live.
jo - :grouphug: sounds like your head is finally winning over your heart! Though did I hear you say he was at W.O.R.K. this evening?
I have just spent a small fortune (and when I say small I mean quite large) on concert tickets for next season (Sept 2006-July 2007). All budgeted for, but I was a bit annoyed that the booking details came through while I'm still waiting for my new blue AMEX card to arrive in the post - I had to put it on my debit card with no cashback, and I thought I'd been dead clever and ordered the AMEX in time to cover all of these booking expenses which always happen at this time of year. (This is my heaviest time of year cashflow-wise, and the blue AMEX gives double cashback for the first 3 months of use) I couldn't leave it until the new card comes through because some of the concerts were already on the way to selling out, and the booking only opened yesterday! If you want seats at the decent end of cheap, you have to get in there sooooo quick. There are another 2 fairly major things I'll need to buy in the next week, BEFORE the new credit card turns up
Anyway, must go, back later!!!!

Well, the build up to my parents visiting on Sunday is intensifying. I had a quick vacuum round yesterday, but today is a concerted effort on the sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. I have to look at these rooms through my Mum's eyes .. she who, when I was house-sitting for them whilst they were on holiday, returned home, stepped through the door, lifted the dish draining rack and looked underneath it, then announced "well, you haven't been exactly TRYING, have you?". Oooh, to this day, I don't know how I didn't deck her.
I can sympathise so much.......... I get the comments such as "Don't you have any bleach in the house then". Anyway my answer now is that I clean the kitchen floor just before they come with bleach so as she walks in through the back door she gets hit with a waft of chlorine which seems to deflect all other criticism. Mind you yesterday on the phone she told me I was odd for making the boys HM pretzels - on the other hand we have to bow down and worship my sister's HM baby food!!!!! Parents.!!!! Are we going to be this bad?
It's snowing here again today. DS2's piano exam went well yesterday - it was only the prep test which you can't fail but he got some nice comments on his certificate which he has taken into school today.
Kids took HM turkey and sweetcorn soup, HM burger in HM bap, choc cripie thing and milk to school today. Apparently that's odd according to my mother as well. You can telll the rest of my family aren't OS (apart from my dad who is a bit) I'm jotting down this month the approx cost of each packed lunch so I can compare it with the cost of school dinners at the end of the month. Leftovers are3 only priced if I would have used them for something else.
More turkey tonight - this time in pasta bake - it was curried last night! The freezers are full to bursting from my Tesco shop so I can't fit any in. We don't have turkey at Xmas so this is a sort of post Xmas use up in March instead
DH fixed the DW last night - it had been fitted without a washer - no wonder it was leaking. So it's back in service again - :T :T :T :T“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

I've just read yesterdays thread, and what an eventful day!!
queenie what fab news about your DS.You must be so proud
gettingitsorted - hope your appeal goes your way.
brummiebabe welcome to the club - my baby is due round about the 28th of October i calculate, and i can't believe it yet either. I've got a drs appointment for tuesday to confirm it and sort out seeing the midwife. We must be at a fairly similar stage, so best of luck.
jo your panic attacks seem to come on when you are stressed about your bloke. Just an observation from me which could be wrong, but do you think the 2 could be related?
kiwichick i'm still keeping my fingers crossed for you that something good will come along to save the day.
Another cold but sunny day here. WM has just finished, house is reasonably clean and tidy, so i may have another day doing my cross stitching. (A 4 panelled winnie the pooh of the 4 seasons - for the baby's room). Spoke to my MIL last night, and she is quite excited as it will be her first grandchild. My parents are happy for us but a bit less excitable as they already have 3 grandsons.
I've got some tuna steaks for tea. I'll try to have them with lots of veg, as fruit is turning my stomach a bit at the moment. My sense of smell has gone super sensitive, which i'm putting down to the baby.
I'm going now to hang clothes up from the WM, and put last nights washing up away. I will check back in later to make sure i don't miss any big events. Is anyone going to make it 3 pregnancies in 1 week?
Have a nice day everyone.
Michelle, x0 -
