Congratulations to Queenie, too!!
Edited to add congratulations to Brummiebabe on her baby news - and commiserations to Kiwichick on the house situation. Hang on in there, Kiwi - just keep thinking positively that something will come up and everything will be fine. Its very scary right now, but I'm sure you'll be okay.:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Congratulations to Master Queenie :j :j
Fantastic news Little Miss PP:T :T
I'm so pleased for you Brummiebabe. Excellent news!
Well, for me it's been quite a boring day. I was in school this morning, but this afternoon it's been my PPA time (out of the classroom). I had to go to see the doctor, which was enjoyable - as you can imagine! I would have preferred to have spent the time in school, but they get a bit off with you if you take other time off. The doctor was running late, so most of the afternoon seemed to fly by.
The WM is now on, pile of ironing is staring at me and I've made a chickpea and tomato salad for our lunch tomorrow.
The weather here has been very hit and miss. It was snowing when I came out of the surgery, but then it cleared up very quickly. Half an hour it started to snow like crazy again, but no sooner as it had started, it suddenly stopped again!
Have a good rest of the day.

Thanks everyone for your hugs and support, I've really needed it.
Latest news on the house is this. We have exchanged with our buyers now and are legally bound to be out of this house on the 10th of March. It seems that the people we are buying from dont want to loose us as buyers and are working out their figure tonight as they might move to rented instead of us. However, they will not be able to be out of their house on the 10th so we will have to put our things in storage and live in the travelodge for a week or two. You can see that now cant you?Me stuck in a one room hotelwith kids aged 1,2&3 for 2 weeks, no school, no car, in the middle of nowhere on a motorway - OH JOY!
If the people we are buying from decide they wont rent then we have to rent for 6 months. If we get somewhere unfurnished then we take our things if its furnished we have to pay for storage. In those 6 months we look for another house because we may as well.
NIGHTMARE!!!!! DH has been instructed to bring home a cheap bottle of plonk AND chocs for me. God knows what I'll feed the kids, they're eating HM choc brownies at the mo so prob wont want tea anyway.
Thanks again guys,
Al.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -
If it comes to finding a hotel room for a couple of weeks there are Travel lodge / holiday inn type places in most city centres - at least that way you'd be able to get out and about. How about doing a quick internet search so you've got some 'back up plans' in place - things usually seem much easier if you've got a plan.I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0

Maybe you could book last minute holiday? Caravan park or even something abroad? I have no idea if it would work out cheaper but anything might be better than being stuck on a motorway...0 -
Whew what an exciting day it is on here :j
Congratulations to Master Q and Little Miss PP  , I am glad all the hard work paid off. I remember being disappointed about passing the 11+ myself because none of my friends did and I wanted to go to the same school as them
Commiserations to the young Gettingitsorted, nice to know support and tlc is forthcoming, it can be jolly hard not passing something (says she from personal experience)
:j :j Brummiebabe, take good care of yourself.
Kiwichick- I remember having to exchange contracts with no place to live many years back when DD was 2 and DS a large bump. Put the word out all around you, someone may come up with something. We were lucky enough to be told of a cottage that was being rented out, snatched it from the jaws of a single bloke as the owner was keen on families and thankfully also liked dogs. I'd go for the storage option myself too as it will be less stressful overall even if not cheaper. Good Luck and will keep my fingers crossed something snaps into place soon.0 -
:j Congrats to Master Queenie, Miss PP, and BrummieBabe!!! :j
An exciting day on oldstyle I see!! I on the other hand had a not too exciting day, work as per usual, but did have fun ogling the students coming into my branch! One of them (22yrs old) is very sweet and ended up chatting for a while. It turns out I have seen his band perform before. I knew he's be in today (always a thursday - payday - its a student day) and he turned up when I was concentrating on something else and I got all flustered. I felt 16 again! I shouldnt really as one has a malfunctioning boyf (in that he seems to have forgotten the chat we had the other week about being helpful and getting a job) at home, but I have to do something to brighten my otherwise dreary day.
Im not going to write too much more about it anyway - lets just say im having some issues at the moment in relation to the boyfriend and im losing all hope that things are going to work out between us. The sheer fact that I am even beginning to look at others with interest (I dont do that unless there is a problem - my way of mentally extricating myself I guess) is a clear signal that im not happy.
Oh well, what can you do??!! Ive tried so bloody hard with him and even when he has really annoyed me ive given him the benefit of the doubt and trusted him to sort things out - but im being continually let down.
Im going to make myself some dinner and have a nap on the sofa whilst I ponder. Fortunately he is out at the mo so I can have some 'me' time.
Have a good evening all!
